Jon Jones reacts to Tom Aspinall, Islam Makhachev injury & UFC 304 crowd brawl video

I’ve been a dedicated fan of combat sports for over a decade now, and I’m always excited to share my thoughts on the latest news and developments in this dynamic world. Today, I’ll be sharing my opinion on three recent stories that have caught my attention.

In this new daily feature, I’ll analyze and share my perspective on the latest combat sports news from around the scene. Come back every morning for a breakdown of noteworthy or unusual headlines.

Jon Jones responds to Tom Aspinall‘s post-UFC 304 call out

Following his successful defense of the interim heavyweight title on Saturday, Tom Aspinall demanded a fight against the undisputed champion Jon Jones, whom he believes is owed to him. In response, Jones took to Twitter on Sunday and wrote, “The beauty of supply and demand, I’m loving it.”

Jones behaves unnecessarily obstructively in the heavyweight division, clinging to the title for personal gain instead of relinquishing it to Aspinall, who is widely regarded as the true champion. Jones’ questionable choices not only impact his life and legacy but also tarnish his professional career. I’ve lost interest in Jones facing Miocic. I hope Jones decides to retire soon so we can focus on more promising matches within the division.

Islam Makhachev suffers injury to hand

The announcement is disheartening as it could postpone Makhachev’s title defense for an extended period. An interim champion scenario might ensue instead, which can create more complications than benefits. I fervently hope that Makhachev avoids surgery and recovers swiftly for the betterment of himself and the lightweight division.

The crowd at UFC 304 broke into a huge brawl in the stands

At UFC 304’s conclusion, numerous videos documented a large-scale brawl occurring. Nina Marie Daniele, who was present, managed to get an excellent vantage point to capture the incident.

It didn’t surprise me that a fight broke out among these individuals. They had gone without sleep for an extended period, were intoxicated, and had just witnessed their favorite fighter lose the championship title in a lackluster five-round match (even though I found it engaging, I get why others might not). Amazingly, given the circumstances and Manchester’s reputation for rowdiness, there weren’t more altercations.
