Jon Bon Jovi reads Paul McCartney’s Hey Grandude! as he is the latest star  to take on CBeebies Bedtime Stories in a bid to embrace his granddad role

Jon Bon Jovi recently read “Hey Grandude!” – a book by Paul McCartney – on the popular children’s show CBeebies Bedtime Stories, happily sharing his excitement about being a grandfather.

Rock star Jon Bon Jovi, 63, became a grandfather this summer. His son, Jake Bongiovi, 23, and Jake’s wife, Millie Bobby Brown, 21, welcomed a baby girl into their family through adoption.

CBeebies Bedtime Story has featured many famous Hollywood actors relaxing and reading a story to children.

Jon will be reading the children’s book “Hey Grandude!” on Friday. The book was written by music legend Sir Paul McCartney, who is 83, and features illustrations by Kathryn Durst.

This story is about a brave and adventurous grandfather who uses a magical compass to take his four grandchildren on exciting trips all over the world.

He explained his choice of ‘Hey Grandude!’ for his first CBeebies Bedtime Stories reading in November, saying it was written by the talented Paul McCartney – a singer, songwriter, and fantastic storyteller.

I’ve always greatly admired him, both as a musician and as a person. He’s a wonderful father and grandfather, and a cherished friend to all of us.

I’ve always made sure music was a big part of my kids growing up. It’s been there for everything – calming them down at bedtime, adding fun to playtime, even making chores and special moments with their dad a little more special. It’s just woven into the fabric of our family life.

Bon Jovi singer Jon Bon Jovi is about to become a grandfather again! His son, Jesse Bongiovi, and Jesse’s wife, Jesse Light, are expecting their first child. Jon also has three other children: Stephanie, 32, and sons Romeo, 21, and Jesse, 30.

Jon, whose full name is John Francis Bongiovi Jr., is excited to see his children become parents and is looking forward to learning from his future grandchildren.

The beloved actor, often called ‘Papa,’ shared his excitement about watching his children start families and getting to know his future grandchildren.

‘It’s not about what I’m going to teach my grandchildren, but what they’re going to teach me!’

The special episode will air on Friday, November 7, at 6:50pm on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer.

I’m so excited to see everything Jon’s been up to with CBeebies! We all know him from Bedtime Stories, but he’s also going to be on the CBeebies Parenting Helpline podcast soon. He’s actually asking the experts a really interesting question – when it’s helpful to offer your kids advice, and when it’s better to just let them figure things out on their own. It feels so relatable as a parent!

You can find the episode on the CBeebies Parenting website and BBC Sounds starting Thursday, November 27th.
