Joker 2’s Connor Storrie on shocking ending twist
As a die-hard fan of the Joker saga, I must say that Connor Storrie‘s performance in “Joker: Folie à Deux” was nothing short of electrifying! The twist at the end, with his character becoming the new Joker, was a brilliant move that added another layer to the story.
Joker: Folie à Deux spoilers follow.
As a die-hard Joker fan, I can’t help but share my excitement over Connor Storrie’s recent insights about his role in Joker 2. After the jaw-dropping twist at the end of the first film, we’re all left wondering what’s next for our favorite villain.
In the eagerly anticipated follow-up, Arthur Fleck (played by Joaquin Phoenix) is committed to Arkham Asylum for Psychiatric Care, where he embarks on a swift and passionate courtship with Harleen ‘Lee’ Quinzel (portrayed by Lady Gaga), as he waits for his trial.
Previously known as the Joker, the character abandons his wicked identity and is convicted for first-degree murder. Arthur eludes justice following the trial and gets returned to Arkham Asylum. In an unexpected turn of events, he is fatally stabbed there by a juvenile detainee (portrayed by Storrie).
Inspired by the Joker, Storrie’s character ends up etching a grin onto his own facial skin using a knife in the closing sequences.
During a chat with TMZ, Storrie delved into the unexpected finale and pondered if he might reprise his role as the Joker in future projects.
He stated, “It was undeniably Joaquin’s film. The narrative revolves around Arthur. I found my role in it,” he explained. “It wasn’t a matter of ‘Here’s where I fit in. This is who I am.’ Instead, it was more about being a part of Arthur’s tale than anything else that might follow. That much was evident.
The performer expressed his thrill about being part of the film production, as well as the mystery enveloping his concluding sequences. He confessed that he hadn’t given a thought to the implications of his crucial character or potential outcomes.
Storrie remarked, “It’s clear that the Joker is incredibly popular, I’d go so far as to call it a cult following. I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that I was there and participating in it.
The movie details were kept extremely secret. I only knew a small piece of it, and that’s all I learned. They seemed very strict and guarded. For two whole years, I didn’t share any information about the movie with anyone.
Joker: Folie à Deux is out now in cinemas. Joker is available to buy on Blu-ray or streaming now.
