JoJo Siwa’s Family Blasts Celebrity Big Brother’s ‘Not Okay’ Treatment of Her by Mickey Rourke!
In a show of support for their daughter JoJo Siwa, age 21, who faced multiple instances of homophobic remarks from Mickey Rourke on Celebrity Big Brother UK, JoJo’s mother Jessalynn Siwa and partner Kath Ebbs have publicly defended her.
In the video I shared on Instagram yesterday, you might have noticed that I expressed my lack of surprise, and I can assure you it was with genuine emotion.
‘I’m not surprised that he didn’t go home. I knew he wouldn’t.’
I’m deeply troubled because I entrusted my child to participate in a TV show abroad, and she faced such unfair treatment immediately upon arrival – from the very start.
I believe she managed the situation admirably. However, just because many people have complimented her doesn’t mean it was acceptable or justified. It wasn’t fair.
‘I consider myself fortunate that she manages herself well. I’m glad she seems alright. From watching her on the live stream and other segments of the program, she appears to look fantastic.’

‘I think she looks like she’s doing what she always does,’ the Dance Moms alum continued.
From ages 11 to 15, JoJo Siwa made appearances on Dance Moms, beginning in Season 4 and continuing through Season 6.
At nine years old, she made her debut to the public through Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition, a spin-off of Dance Moms, a popular reality TV series.
Jessalynn expressed, “You know what? This has turned into something more than just a habit. It’s transformed into a game, a fad: ‘Let’s criticize her, let’s ridicule her, let’s say she’s a poor dancer, or that she can’t sing well, let’s even go as far as questioning her sexuality.’
In her Californian residence, the 50-year-old woman recorded her segment, sporting a black sweatshirt and large, black-framed glasses.
Mickey, an American actor aged 72, was given a warning on Celebrity Big Brother UK for telling fellow housemate JoJo that if he stayed more than four days, JoJo’s sexual orientation would change.)
Mickey occasionally employed a term from British colloquialism that can be misunderstood as a derogatory phrase towards the LGBTQ+ community, when he addressed Siwa by stating, “I won’t converse with you.

JoJo was left in tears after Mickey said he would ‘tie [her] up.’
In the broadcast watched by over 1.55 million viewers on Wednesday, it was noticed that co-resident Chris Hughes was offering comfort to the musician known as Karma, with a supportive embrace.
I’d quickly vote out the individual who identifies as a lesbian.
JoJo, listening in, retorted: “If that’s the logic you’re using, that’s discriminatory,” and Chris quickly intervened: “You can’t say that, Mike.” (Note that I have replaced fictional names with generic ones for clarity.)
‘What’s next?’ Jessalynn asked. ‘Why don’t you just take her for face value?’
‘It’s funny I see a lot of comments that are life, “I like JoJo when she’s like this on the show”.
She explained, ‘I think I understand your confusion, but that’s just her typical behavior. You might not notice it, or perhaps you prefer not to. It seems like you tend to observe what you want to see.’
In Sydney as of now, Kath Ebbs, who has been in a relationship with JoJo since November 2024, reposted Jesalynn’s content while adding her own insights.

‘This times one thousand,’ Kath wrote.
Jo is not only among the kindest and most generous individuals I’ve encountered, but also the fortunate person I get to refer to as my partner.
Over the past two days, we’ve all seen misogyny unfold on national television, and rightfully so, there has been immediate support for her. However, it’s important to note that the same degree of misogyny is likely being directed at her by many people who are currently expressing their support.
‘So I ask you, why did it take this level of attack to see her as human?’
Over the weekend, Kath posted three videos to her Stories, stating that the individual viewers see in the Big Brother house truly represents JoJo. (In a more conversational tone: In three videos she shared on Saturday, Kath claimed that the person you’re watching in the Big Brother house is actually JoJo.)
The 27-year-old media personality remarked, “At times, the only criticism people give her is that they think she’s awkward or out of place.
As a fervent admirer, I’ve found myself all too often witnessing blatant misogyny, only for it to take an astonishing turn of events before people would finally acknowledge, “Perhaps we underestimated her.
‘This is her. She’s all of it.
‘It’s a really important moment for people to reflect on that.
It’s been extremely challenging and stressful for me to see a person I care about deeply struggle with what they’re going through,” they continued.
I’m just using this as an illustration, but let’s face it, when we’re online or consuming media and celebrity culture, let’s take a moment to consider our influence.
Kath, who goes by both she/her and they/them pronouns due to identifying as non-binary, expressed their anger on Instagram after the recent episode and called for Mickey’s removal from the show.
However, former Tory MP Michael Fabricant was the first to go.
