JoJo Siwa hinted at a different perspective on the situation between her boyfriend, Chris Hughes, and his former partner, Olivia Attwood, suggesting there’s more to the story than what’s been shared.
Olivia and her ex-partner made it to the final of Love Island in 2017 but broke up the next year. Olivia later revealed she had sought therapy to cope with their relationship.
She also thinks he was putting on a show for the cameras, explaining that some reality TV contestants seem to completely change their personalities when they’re not being filmed – almost like they become different people.
Olivia appeared to suggest her ex, Chris, was dating JoJo – whom he met on Celebrity Big Brother – for attention, responding to a question about the relationship by simply stating, ‘She’s really famous.’
JoJo recently shared that Chris is a genuinely good person who has chosen to remain quiet about the situation.
During an appearance on Radio Andy’s Smith Sisters Live, she emphasized that there are always multiple perspectives to any situation, and that no one can truly know the complete picture.

I’m deeply in love with him, but we’ve only been together a few months, so I’m still learning about his life and experiences.
‘There’s a lot to be said about the good guy in the story who keeps his mouth shut.
‘And Chris is a simple guy who loves his family, his golf, his horses and his sports.
We both have a history of online negativity and could easily prove who was wrong with screenshots and messages. However, it’s just not worth the effort to rehash old arguments.
Giving it attention only makes the problem worse, and you don’t have to do that. It’s something from your past, and what’s great about Christopher is that he’s moved on and isn’t dwelling on it.
Daily Mail has contacted representatives of Olivia Attwood for comment.
This follows JoJo’s confession that her relationship with Chris feels unlike anything she’s known before.
On the Reign with Josh Smith podcast, she shared how happy she is and expressed a strong desire for her relationship to continue flourishing. She said she’s never felt so hopeful about the future or wanted a love to deepen more.

‘I’ve never protected a love that I have so much. I’ve never cared about another person so much.
I never dreamed of a big wedding. I always thought I’d just quickly sign some papers or elope to Vegas because I didn’t want a traditional ceremony. But now, I’ve changed my mind. I really want a ring, I want my dad to give me away, I want that first dance, and I want to feel excited and happy – and I am!
JoJo, who previously identified as pansexual and now uses the term queer, has spoken about the strong negative reaction she received from some in the LGBTQ+ community after she began dating a man, especially considering her past relationships with women. She described the backlash as ‘brutal’.
She explained that it’s difficult because it feels like some of her own family are distancing themselves. She emphasized that they are a broader LGBTQIA+ family, not just a limited group, and that the core belief of the queer community is simply that love is love.
That works both ways – just because I’m currently in a straight relationship doesn’t invalidate my previous experiences or attractions.
It’s everywhere now, honestly. Women holding hands, just…being affectionate in public. And they *look* at me. I swear, they catch my eye and then they giggle, or worse, they point and roll their eyes like I’m some kind of freak. It used to just be glances, but now they’re actually approaching me, snapping a quick photo, and then running off like I’m some exhibit. I even had someone flip me off while I was driving! I just…I see them. They’re always *there*.
The other day, someone from the LGBTQ+ community approached my studio, gave me the middle finger for around two minutes, and then left.
As someone who spends a lot of time observing people and trends, I’ve really come to understand just how damaging hate and bullying can be. It’s not just from outsiders, either – sometimes the most hurtful attacks come from within your own community. I believe everyone should be aware of this because while I can handle it, many others struggle, and that’s something we need to address.

JoJo claims she’s unbothered by the criticism she’s receiving, but she does worry about how it might affect other young people.
She explained that the way older people in the community were acting didn’t bother her at all. She felt happy, loved, and fulfilled, and wanted them to know she was doing well and surrounded by love.
I’m concerned about how my words are being perceived by younger people.
If someone at 22 were to say they were attracted to girls, but then a boy they liked came along, the issue isn’t the attraction itself. The problem arises when they feel restricted – like they can’t explore those feelings or change their mind about who they’re attracted to – because someone else, like JoJo, has been told they shouldn’t. It’s about feeling unable to follow their own feelings and potentially fall in love.
‘It doesn’t affect me, but it affects the people that are not me that see the bullying.
You know, I’ve been thinking a lot about how we all communicate, and I really believe we need to choose our words carefully. It’s not just about sensitive topics like relationships or sexuality – it applies to *everything* we say. Being mindful of our language can make a huge difference in how we connect with others and avoid misunderstandings. It’s something I’m constantly working on myself, and I encourage everyone to do the same.
JoJo recently looked very different from her usual stage appearance when she met up with her boyfriend Chris. She traded her sparkly outfits for a sophisticated black dress to attend a friend’s wedding in London.
Chris proudly posted photos with his girlfriend on Instagram after they went to a fancy wedding at the Savoy hotel.
JoJo looked incredible in a black dress adorned with her signature bows, posing with Chris against the beautiful backdrop of the London skyline.
They first connected in April while appearing on Celebrity Big Brother, and have been completely devoted to each other ever since leaving the show.
Chris, looking sharp in a black tuxedo, shared photos from the wedding and wrote: ‘Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Lewis! What a beautiful wedding in the city!’
