In his latest role for the film “Day Drinker,” Johnny Depp undergoes a remarkable transformation, making it difficult to recognize him yet again. This new appearance marks his triumphant return to big-screen success.

The Hollywood actor, 61, is back on set after production on his latest project began this week. 

Instead of keeping his dark hair and beard, the actor decided to go grey for the upcoming movie. His face seems fuller now, and he uses striking blue contact lenses.

In a significant effort to rejuvenate his acting career, which has faced challenges due to past scandals following his high-profile divorce with ex-wife Amber Heard, Day Drinker represents Johnny Depp’s most ambitious attempt yet on the silver screen.

Over the past three years following his court case, this celebrity has taken on roles in less prominent films such as Jeanne du Barry, a historical French drama, and helmed the direction of the World War II drama titled Modi: Three Days On The Wing Of Madness.

He said in 2023: ‘I keep wondering about the word comeback because I didn’t go anywhere.

It’s possible that people ceased making phone calls due to their apprehensions during that period. However, I didn’t disappear anywhere. Instead, I’ve been spending my time here idly.

In a span of several years, this fresh movie serves as a high-budget debut for him. He shares the screen with Penelope Cruz and Madelyn Cline, under the direction of Marc Webb, in a Lionsgate production.

Set in Spain, the storyline follows a mourning bartender character (portrayed by Madelyn), who crosses paths with a seemingly enigmatic passenger aboard a secluded yacht, named Johnny.

The pair then form an unlikely bond and ‘their lives intertwine in unexpected ways’ as per IDMB. 

Supporters are thrilled and talking non-stop about his change, praising his new “silver fox” appearance and many commenting that he seems very different from his typical image.

He appears as if he’s emulating the character from the Dos Equis advertisements, and I must admit, I find it quite appealing.

Many spectators commented that the metamorphosis brought to mind the character Johnny played as Gellert Grindelwald in the Harry Potter movies.

‘Grindelwald vibes,’ one fan account noted with a side-by-side comparison of his two roles.

Several gave shout-outs to the makeup department. 

‘Makeup department over budget on making him not look like a walking corpse,’ one X user posted.

As for me, I couldn’t pull off a role without the costume department’s incredible contributions – those blue contacts and wigs truly make all the difference! (Laughing-crying emoji) It’s amazing, isn’t it?
