As a longtime admirer of Hollywood and its enigmatic characters, I can’t help but feel a glimmer of hope when hearing Terry Rossio’s words about Johnny Depp. With his extensive experience in the industry, particularly with the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Mr. Rossio carries an authoritative voice that resonates with me.

On Thursday, Johnny Depp once again donned the role of Captain Jack Sparrow, bringing joy to kids’ faces.

As a passionate admirer, I stepped into the shoes of the 61-year-old actor who enchanted audiences worldwide through his role as the protagonist in the Pirates of the Caribbean film series. Recently, I had the heartwarming opportunity to don my character once more and visit young patients at the Donostia University Hospital in San Sebastián, bringing a spark of joy into their day.

According to Osakidetza-Basque Health Service, the legendary figure from Hollywood brought happiness to the hospital by engaging in conversations, playing games, and sharing laughter with the kids.

As the mastermind behind my latest directorial project, Modi, showcased at the San Sebastian Film Festival, I’ve chosen to immerse myself completely in the role for authenticity’s sake. I’ve maintained this dedication throughout, ensuring that I don’t disrupt the enchanting world I’ve created on screen.

Sweet images on the ward showed Johnny happily posing for pictures with the children and cradling the babies on the Pediatrics and Oncology ward.

‘He’s been sharing jokes and stories with them, providing a brief respite from their current struggles.’

The present brought happiness to patients, their families, healthcare professionals such as nurses and doctors, and everyone on duty in the ward when it was given.

We’d like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Johnny Depp, not only from Osakidetza but particularly from the team at Donostia University Hospital. His generosity with time, encouragement, and vitality have brought a refreshing spirit to our ward.

It’s not the first time Johnny has used his Disney character to spread joy.

In the year 2022, he chose to embody Captain Sparrow as a heartwarming gesture of encouragement for a fan who was bravely fighting a serious heart illness.

In a delightful twist, actor portraying Captain Jack Sparrow secretly contacted 13-year-old YouTuber Kori, surprising him with a personal video message and phone call. In the message, he expressed his good wishes for Kori’s future, proclaiming himself as ‘Captain Kori’s number one fan’, offering all his admiration and affection.

Kori, who’s had two heart transplants and currently under palliative care, aims to amass a large number of subscribers before his time, and this is where Johnny steps in to assist him.

After being warmly received into the Pirates of the Caribbean series again, his choice to reprise his role is subsequent.

In an interview with DailyMail.com in July, screenwriter and producer Terry Rossio stated that with Johnny’s recent improvement, he would be warmly received if he were to return to the swashbuckling franchise.

During a private conversation, Terry expressed that he wouldn’t think twice about inviting Johnny back to work on set, regardless of the claims of abuse and alcohol problems associated with the actor.

Terry, who’s 63 years old, stated that the contentious Hollywood star isn’t the hurdle for a sequel; rather, it’s about locating an appropriate script, suitable co-stars, and securing the necessary finances to rejuvenate the Disney-owned franchise, which has amassed over $4.5 billion globally.

At the red carpet event for his latest movie, Protocol 7, Terry expressed nothing but praise for Johnny Depp, saying, “Johnny is adored by many. I have no doubts about Johnny Depp.

The focus shouldn’t be on Johnny Depp. Instead, we should consider if there’s an engaging storyline, if the script is strong, whether it can be effectively directed, and if the finances can be managed. These aspects are what truly matter, not Johnny Depp himself.

Terry, who was up for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay with Shrek, also suggested that instead of solely focusing on Johnny’s return, Disney might consider reuniting the original cast from the critically acclaimed Pirates film, Dead Man’s Chest, for a possible sequel.

When asked about the progress of Disney’s revival plans, Rossio admitted he was unaware, explaining humbly, “I’m afraid I don’t possess any insider knowledge. Regrettably, I can’t share that information.

However, he pointed out that there might be other influences delaying the restart, and occasionally it takes more than ten years for a desired film to come to fruition.

He mentioned that the Indiana Jones film was similar to something he described. It seemed highly desired by many, yet it wasn’t until around 15 or 16 years later that it finally materialized.

Many factors, such as scheduling, accessibility, financial aspects, artistic freedom, and the studio’s inclination, along with astronomical alignment, must coincide for a film to be produced. It’s amazing that any production comes to fruition at all.

In my perspective as a lifestyle enthusiast, last year, renowned franchise producer Jerry Bruckheimer expressed his aspiration for the return of Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow, yet never officially confirmed whether Disney shared this vision.

Fans are sure to be thrilled by Terry’s comments, as many had previously advocated for his return following his successful libel lawsuit against his former spouse, Amber Heard.

During cross-examination by his own legal representative, the actor testified at the trial that he was removed from the sixth movie by Disney following allegations by Amber that he had been abusive towards her, accused of being a domestic abuser.

In the trial held in Virginia, the jury determined that Johnny successfully demonstrated the necessary components of defamation through the assertions made by Amber in her 2018 Washington Post article. The jury concluded that these statements were untrue, and that Amber knowingly harmed Johnny’s reputation with reckless disregard for the truth.

The Jack Sparrow actor enjoyed a five minute standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival for his 2023 film, Jeanne du Barry, in which he stars as the former King of France Louis XV.
