John Travolta’s daughter Ella writes heartbreaking song for late mom Kelly Preston, and pal Barbra Streisand loves it

As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but express my appreciation for Ella Bleu Travolta, whose heartfelt composition, “Little Bird,” has left me spellbound. Notably, this touching piece was penned by Ella in remembrance of her mother, Kelly Preston, and it has earned a praiseworthy recognition from the legendary Barbra Streisand.
82, who is known for the iconic symbol, posted a photo of the 24-year-old Ella from her appearance on the Sunrise morning program, accompanied by an enthusiastic comment about her, on his Instagram account.

Kelly died from breast cancer at age 57 on July 12, 2020.
Barbra and John have been friends for years.
Last year, on her 80th birthday in 2022, he paid a heartfelt homage to his dear friend by sending her a video message conveying his best wishes. He subsequently uploaded this special moment onto his Instagram account as well.
In the video, John referred to her as a “powerful force in nature” and expressed that he couldn’t find enough suitable words to express just how extraordinary this individual is.
On the 6th of September, Ella’s solo track titled “Little Bird” hit the airwaves as a standalone single, and it is slated to appear on her forthcoming extended play (EP) named “Colors of Love.
It was the last song she wrote for her EP.
The song is about coping with loss, she explained in an interview with People magazine.
She shared that she had grown up under a great deal of public scrutiny. This, naturally, brings a significant amount of focus, and even more so when someone close to you passes away, is what she conveyed to the media outlet.
‘There’s definitely the natural support and global support that comes with that,’ she added.
‘Additionally, there may be an inherent assumption about your emotions based on the situation, what others think you might feel, or even their own feelings projected onto you.’
Ella mentioned that the song emphasizes cherishing and maintaining the deeply meaningful connections one shares with the loved ones who are no longer here, along with remembering those memories.
She explained that her advice was similar to a mother bird guiding her young, ensuring no distractions hinder their natural instincts, which were already within them,” she told the publication.

The “Little Birds” music video incorporates personal home videos of Ella and her 13-year-old brother Benjamin alongside their parents Kelly and John, as well as their deceased brother Jett, who passed away at the age of 16 in 2009. His unfortunate demise was due to a head injury sustained from hitting his head on the bathtub after experiencing a seizure.
On September 6, the day of its release, John excitedly posted his latest song on Instagram, making a special note that this was also the anniversary of his marriage to Kelly.
They would have celebrated 33rd wedding anniversary.
On Instagram, John shared that today is a particularly significant day as Ella is debuting her brand-new single titled “Little Bird.
He mentioned that the song and its accompanying video are a tribute to his mother, coincidentally happening on our wedding anniversary. The song is part of the upcoming album that I’ve assisted in producing; I invite you all to take pleasure in it!
