John Goodman suffers injury that delays production on movie with Tom Cruise
Due to an injury sustained on his hip, John Goodman‘s film production schedule has been temporarily disrupted.
As reported by Entertainment Weekly, the actor had to be taken to a hospital following an accident during a rehearsal for scene setup (blocking) of his upcoming movie. This unfortunate incident happened in the UK, where filming for the currently unnamed project is taking place. Production is set to continue on Monday.
According to a representative from Warner Bros., actor John Goodman sustained an injury to his hip. He was quickly treated medically, which necessitated a short pause in filming so he could recuperate fully. Production will resume next week once John has made a complete recovery.
Beyond just its intriguing name, the specifics about the movie’s storyline and characters are being tightly guarded at the moment. In “Mission: Impossible,” Tom Cruise will take on a role alongside Goodman, and it is said that he will also act as one of the producers for the film.
The upcoming project marks Alejandro González Iñárritu’s return to English-language filmmaking since his critically acclaimed work, “The Revenant,” for which he and star Leonardo DiCaprio received multiple accolades.
Director Alejandro González Iñárritu collaborated on the script for an upcoming film with journalist Sabina Berman, as well as Alexander Dinelaris and Nicolas Giacobone who worked together on “Birdman”.
Completing the ensemble are Jesse Plemons from “The Power of the Dog”, Sandra Hüller known for “Anatomy of a Fall”, Michael Stuhlbarg, who starred in “A Serious Man”, Sophie Wilde, best recognized from “Talk to Me”, and Riz Ahmed, an accomplished actor from “Sound of Metal”.
