John Bishop Shares Heartwarming Photo and Emotional Tribute for Son’s 29th Birthday
John Bishop recently posted a unique picture of his son Luke on his special 29th birthday, accompanied by a heartfelt note.
On Wednesday, the comedian, who is now 58 years old, used Instagram to send his son a happy birthday message, posting both a recent picture and an old one.
At home, John was pictured embracing Luke warmly in a recent photo, with an image of him cradling his baby boy superimposed on it.

Sharing this special occasion with my wife Melanie and our other son Joe, after 32 years of marriage, is truly a testament to the bond that love can create. 29 years ago today, it’s mind-blowing to reflect that I cradled the one and only @samplesizelukey in my hands, welcoming him to our world for the very first time. The joy it brings me to imagine repeating this moment… Truly a dream come true!
On that day, I wouldn’t have fathomed the course my life would take, and I’m just as clueless about where it might lead over the next 29 years. But if I could find myself embracing him once more on this very same day in 29 years, it would be a dream come true.
‘Happy Birthday Luke my son, your Dad loves you ❤️.’
A year ago, on his son Luke’s 28th birthday, John penned a note saying, “Happy birthday to our beloved Luke! It was heartwarming to see him alongside his mother and brothers. We all stood in a way that made the family scene perfect ❤️.
In the year 2018, John received acclaim for delivering a touching speech about one of his children during his acceptance ceremony for the NatWest British LGBT Award.
At the London Marriott Hotel located in Grosvenor Square, the comedian was awarded Comedian of the Year, leaving the audience emotionally stirred by his heartfelt speech.
At the event, he was accompanied by his wife Melanie and sons Joe, Luke, and Daniel. When Mel B and Duncan James, the hosts, presented him with an award unexpectedly, he was taken aback.
In his speech, he joked: ‘I was so pleased to be nominated.
‘I brought my whole family, my wife and my three sons who I love and I am massively proud of.
In our family, as with many others, we face our share of challenges. One of my sons sported a tattoo on his ankle that was intended to represent Africa, but instead resembles Australia. Another son sometimes speaks unclear or mumbled words, and one of my sons identifies as a gay man.
As an earnest follower, I must confess that there have been numerous evenings when my spouse and I found ourselves lost in concern, worrying and fretting about various matters.
‘What are we going to do if he doesn’t stop mumbling?’
The comedian, often known by that title, advocated for the recognition and legalization of same-sex marriages in Northern Ireland. This change eventually occurred in the year 2020.
Recently, John attended a meeting with the Rainbow Trust, organizers of the largest LGBTQ+ pride event held in Ireland.
John stated, “For the initial attempt, only fifty courageous individuals gathered. As they marched along the street, they encountered people standing there, holding signs.
They were displaying signs that loudly proclaimed to those individuals, phrases such as “You’re bound for damnation,” “Homosexuality is a transgression,” and “You are an abomination.
In the past, there were more demonstrations happening compared to marches. Today, these events overshadow the protesters significantly. For instance, the Belfast Gay Pride attracts approximately 60,000 participants.
When inquired about the presence of protesters among the marchers, he was informed that there’s always room set aside for them annually, allowing participants to pass by with pride on their heads.
After delivering some moving remarks, the comedian was given a prolonged applause by the crowd of 600 people. And Mel B expressed, “John Bishop, thank you for your outstanding speech.
