John Barrowman’s Career Relaunch in Jeopardy as He ‘Gives Away’ Tour Tickets
According to reports, John Barrowman is generously offering free tickets for his upcoming tour as he works towards rejuvenating his career following the conclusion of his participation in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.
57-year-old actor is preparing for a U.K. tour, offering fans a personal insight into John’s life and career through music.
The “Laid Bare” tour began in Basildon on October 11 and is set to visit several other locations in February and March, such as Weston-Super-Mare, Swansea, and Aberdeen.
Or simply:
The tour titled “Laid Bare” started in Basildon on October 11 and will travel to cities like Weston-Super-Mare, Swansea, and Aberdeen in February and March.
His plans became clear following his poor performance on the intense reality program, where spectators labeled his withdrawal from the competition after just 32 minutes as pitiful.
John experienced another disappointing event in a line of hurdles, as he strived to reboot his profession following criticism about past allegations that he displayed inappropriate behavior on the set of Doctor Who.
According to The Sun, what is being charged as an entry fee at these venues isn’t actually for the cost of the ticket itself, but rather to cover the reasonable expenses associated with giving you access to the tickets and managing their online booking system.
Initially, tickets for the upcoming show at Tunbridge Wells Assembly Halls Theatre were priced at £42, £37, and £32, and so far, 18 out of a total of 310 seats have been sold over the next fortnight.
TopMob has contacted John’s representative for comment.
In March, John initially shared his intentions to embark on a tour via Instagram, informing his audience: “From the stage to the screen, from the TARDIS to Torchwood, Arrow to Anything Goes, and from the UK to the USA, I’ll be sharing stories directly from the horse’s mouth.
Conversations and rumors swirling as I perform heartfelt versions of some of your favorite tracks from my albums.
John has long been a regular at Comic Con events, recently graced the stage at Oz Comic Con in Sydney, and is scheduled to make an appearance at Comic Con Liverpool in November.
The star aspired to launch his return when he signed up for the cast of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares, Winning.
However, during the initial broadcast on Sunday, it emerged that John left the program only 32 minutes after reaching base camp. Prior to his departure, he was observed vomiting before ultimately giving up.
During an interview with The Sun, John asserted that his illness stemmed from being forced to consume unappetizing tofu, as no other food options were provided for him instead.
John, who doesn’t follow a plant-based diet, remarked: “I’ve never tasted tofu and I have no intention to, but given your hunger, you might as well give it a try.
The individual who struggles with motion sickness had to undergo a two-hour drive for the assignment, causing him to look pale and queasy.
He exclaimed, ‘Next, there was a wave of violent vomiting, and the tofu emerged. At that moment, I realized, “I don’t have to demonstrate anything unnecessary; I won’t risk getting sick or injured for it.”‘
In truth, I expressed my contentment with myself, and I’m generally a joyful individual.” We all have our challenges, but I must admit, I’ve erred.
In 2021, John, who had previously been removed from a judging panel due to accusations he faced, ended up vomiting shortly after reaching the base camp for the initial competition on the show.
In the course of this particular instance, John confronted allegations about his habitual exposure during filming on the BBC One science fiction shows Doctor Who and Torchwood.
He stated that the media accused him of walking around and placing his penis on everyone’s shoulders.
That event left a lasting impact on me, making me feel broken, but this course offers me the chance to overcome it all. I yearn for others to witness my true character.
Later on, I couldn’t help but mention that my roles in Doctor Who and Torchwood required quite a bit of on-screen nudity. If I were to act foolishly, well, I might just go ahead and do something foolish.
Earlier, it was disclosed that John had considered taking his own life following allegations of exposing himself to cast members during filming for Doctor Who.
His world collapsed, and his television career halted, following the emergence of allegations in 2021.
In a recent interview, it was revealed that John, who will be appearing in the new season of Celebrity SAS following a lengthy absence from the screen, shared his struggle with a profound depression that led him to consider taking his own life.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase John’s statement as follows: “John shared with The Mirror that he grappled with profound thoughts of self-harm and even contemplated methods to end his life. Yet, despite these dark moments, he couldn’t bring himself to act because of the love and bonds he shares with his family and friends.
In May 2021, John publicly apologized following allegations that he exposed himself to cast members while filming for “Doctor Who” starting in 2005, as well as the spin-off series “Torchwood” in 2006.
The performer characterized his past behavior as playful mischief, stating he wouldn’t engage in such actions today. However, he vigorously defended himself against accusations that some critics attempted to label his actions as instances of sexual misconduct.
After facing pressure from individuals like the Conservative MP Alec Shelbrooke, he was ultimately removed from Dancing On Ice later on. Shelbrooke stated that including him in the program might be inappropriate for a “family show,” potentially appearing to endorse his previous actions.
As a loyal fan, I must share that although I was let go from Dancing on Ice, an ITV program, John made headlines by joining All Star Musicals, another ITV production. Unfortunately, he had to postpone his Centre Stage tour owing to subpar ticket sales.
He mentioned: “There was a harmless joke among the actors, one they never expressed concerns about or spoke up against. However, a story emerged suggesting I was inappropriately placing myself on people’s shoulders, which is untrue.
Originally, we played harmless jokes within our group, which brought laughter and enjoyment among us. However, some of these jokes seemed to backfire, as they led to my public embarrassment and being ‘cancelled’ or ostracized.
John expressed that being labeled as a ‘sexual harasser’ left him feeling utterly crushed. He emphasized repeatedly that he would never engage in any actions aimed at causing harm to women, men, people who identify as transgender, or anyone else for that matter.
