John Amos’ daughter Shannon breaks down as she claims her ‘psychopath’ brother ‘kept their father hidden for months’

John died on August 21, aged 84, but his death was not announced until October 1 when Shannon, 58, and other members of her family say they were left blindsided at finding out the devastating news through the media.

K.C. Amos, who is 54 years old and Kelly Christopher’s brother, was the only relative who had been in touch with John in the period preceding his demise. This interaction occurred after a public dispute during which she alleged that her sibling had abused the elderly.

In an exclusive conversation with DailyMail.com, Shannon choked back tears as she shared her worry that her father might have passed away all by himself. She alleged that K.C had been shifting his father between different legal territories, supposedly to hinder any potential communication.

‘I believe my brother is a sociopath or psychopath… this is all a game to him,’ she claimed. 

K.C claimed that his father died in Los Angeles from natural causes. 

The death certificate of John, which had been acquired by TMZ, verified the apprehensions of his family regarding the fact that he was indeed cremated on August 30, exactly nine days following his demise.

It also revealed that K.C is in possession of the actors ashes, and that no autopsy was performed. 

The death certificate specifies that the cause of death was congestive heart failure, and it was K.C., who acted as an informant, reporting this information to the relevant authorities about his father’s demise.

In October 2023, Shannon asserted that her brother, whom she thinks has bipolar disorder, has effectively cut off contact with their family from John, the actor known for Die Hard 2, for more than a year now.

She stated that [K.C.] switched his phone numbers. He hasn’t responded to our emails. A while back, we sent him an email, reminding him about my father needing a pacemaker replacement. It’s possible he didn’t carry out the task and now we can’t find out the truth.

Prior to John’s passing, the longstanding dispute among his children, who were born during his tenure with his former wife, Noel ‘Noni’ Mickelson, frequently grabbed newspaper attention.

In 2023 Shannon accused her brother of elder abuse.

Shannon asserts that she faced a comparable struggle when their mother passed away in 2016, implying that K.C is said to have tried to keep her separate from others.

For the past 24 years, I’ve endured legal hardships, experienced pain, and constantly worried about my parents alongside both my mom and dad,” she stated.

The only sense of tranquility I currently feel is from knowing they’re both liberated.

She emotionally reminisced about her last encounters with her father in July 2022 and October 2023, periods where she had to secretly visit the hospital in Memphis to see how he was doing.

She stated that her brother prevented her from entering the hospital, but despite all family members being barred, she managed to slip past security. She navigated through each level, and remarkably, she encountered her father in a hallway, thanks to divine intervention.

Initially, I wasn’t recognized by him, which made me understand the severity of his dementia. However, later on, he remembered me, gave me a warm embrace, and expressed his love for me. Unfortunately, I was asked to leave after that moment, accompanied by security personnel.

She went on to describe their reactions, stating, “Everyone is feeling a mix of anger, sorrow, and it would seem only right for us to take the time to absorb and mourn this news.

Ever since October 2023, I’ve been deeply missing the opportunity to see him and converse with him, as he was cut off from all his family and friends due to isolation.

Sherri Korsun Scott, her aunt’s daughter, similarly asserted that K.C. deliberately kept John away from the family, even though they made numerous efforts to communicate with him.

She shared with DailyMail.com that he hasn’t provided us (including myself and other family members) any updates about himself or a means of communication. This situation, she noted, has almost eclipsed his previous accomplishments and impact.

I’ve held my peace for so long, letting the thoughts churn inside like a stormy sea, fearing the pain it might cause and the potential displeasure it might bring. However, at this moment, I can no longer stay silent. I need everyone to hear me now.

Alisha Noelle Ford, her daughter, shared that it was distressing for the family to be separated from John because he was particularly devoted to his family.

She started saying, “‘Uncle Sonny’ provided me with numerous cousins and unique life experiences. He covered the costs for my higher education, and he generously allowed others to reside with him.

Alisha added: “It’s important for folks to understand that our family had conflicts. They might assume, ‘Ah, she wasn’t trying to contact him, or nobody knew’, but they’re not aware of what was happening privately.

‘What my mom has done, what Shannon has done, what Quiera [John’s granddaughter] has done, all other family members, me included. What we have done to just try to even gather information. 

‘They’ve been trying to do so much and just haven’t gotten anywhere. Just been blocked.’

On Tuesday, John’s goddaughter Amy Goudy repeated her allegations in a detailed post on her Facebook page, and she pointed the finger at K.C., Eugene Brummet, and John’s assistant Belinda Foster for keeping him secluded.

Shannon previously accused Belinda of impersonating her on the night John died in hospital. 

‘On social media, KC seemed to show a strong bond between father and son, but in reality, it was more intricate. Our dad had dementia, so KC frequently provided John with prompts to construct a story online that did not align with reality.’

As a dedicated lifestyle advisor, I found myself alarmed when pictures from caring neighbors and a healthcare professional suggested that my elderly father might have been overlooked and isolated during his last days. A particularly troubling image led to an Elder Abuse inquiry, yet unfortunately, it didn’t yield any substantial results.

In my perspective, the situation seems strikingly similar to when Shannon and KC lost their mother, and as a dedicated follower of their journey, I can understand why they are seeking clarification on some crucial matters. They yearn for answers to these vital questions.

The family has not dismissed the idea that someone might have exploited John’s vulnerability as an elderly person, considering the roles of Eugene Brummer and Belinda Foster, who are suspected to have been his representatives. It is possible that these two individuals could have acted inappropriately.

So far, KC hasn’t made any public comments regarding these accusations, and he hasn’t updated his Instagram or TikTok accounts since August 13 – a mere eight days prior to John’s passing.
