Johannes Radebe DENIES he is leaving Strictly Come Dancing and insists he's 'going nowhere' amid claims he had landed two new roles away from the show

As I delve into the captivating journey of Johannes Radebe, a man whose story is as enchanting as his dance moves, I find myself in awe of his resilience and determination. Born and raised in South Africa’s townships, Johannes faced adversity that many could never fathom. Yet, he emerged stronger, gracing the world stage with his infectious energy and magnetic charm.

Professional dancer Johannes Radebe has spoken up about speculations suggesting his departure for fresh ventures.

In response to rumors circulating about his involvement with the popular dance show, the beloved South African dancer (age 37), who has been a fan favorite since joining in 2018, decided to address these concerns via social media.

On Thursday, the celebrity playfully crooned and moved to a tune that spoke of staying put, as he shared it on Instagram.

Dressed in a grey T-shirt and black trousers he shimmied and hummed along to the tune.

He then joined in and loudly sang along with the lyrics which included: ‘I go nowhere, nowhere.’

He broke off singing to address the rumours about his next career move.

Addressing the camera within the dance studio, he declared emphatically: “I’m not leaving, I’m staying put. That’s not true. Just one falsehood on top of another.

Afterward, the skilled dancer moved backward, swaying his hips rhythmically and humming to the music, eventually drawing in Gladiators star Montell Douglas for a twirl.

As a devoted admirer, I’d like to clarify that in response to recent speculation, I’m here to stay! The rumors about my departure from the amazing @bbcstrictly aren’t true. I cherish this incredible show and hope to be a part of it as long as they welcome me – and my body permits.

I currently have Kinky Boots and other projects underway, but I won’t be going anywhere from them. Sending love to everyone, Jojo XX

Johannes’s video comes after reports that he was set to quit the BBC show at the end of the series.

Sources close to the dancer claimed his schedule is too jam-packed for a return to the ballroom.

For the initial seven months of the year, Johannes will be appearing in “Kinky Boots: The Musical,” marking his debut. Additionally, he’s been busy working on a film project that retells his life experiences.

However, before moving forward with his projects, the dancer has been contracted for a BBC show, and it’s predicted that he along with Montell will make it to the finale.

According to a source, Johannes is deeply admired on the program, and there’s absolutely no animosity regarding his departure.

It’s quite likely that his superiors will seek an opportunity to have him rejoin the team, and he might well entertain the idea of coming back.

For the moment, his plate is overflowing with tasks related to the competition as well as other ongoing projects, and additional chances that are yet to be fully investigated.

A spokesperson for Strictly Come Dancing chose not to provide a statement upon being reached by TopMob. We’ve also reached out to Johannes Radebe’s representative for a comment.

From the chilly start of January through the vibrant summer days of July, I’m beyond thrilled to be stepping into the limelight for a starring role in the touring version of “Kinky Boots The Musical.” This groundbreaking production is penned by none other than the iconic pop sensation, Cyndi Lauper. I can hardly wait to strut my stuff on stage!

He’s set to perform over 200 shows in 25 different cities across the UK and Ireland, in cities randing from Dublin to Plymouth and Brighton to Edinburgh.

As a devoted follower, I find myself sharing Johannes’ disappointment, knowing full well that he too won’t be able to join the Strictly Live Tour in January, an event we both eagerly anticipate each year.

Over the past few seasons, Johannes Radebe has gained widespread popularity on “Strictly,” and in 2019, he was partnered with Catherine Tyldesley. The following year, he danced with Caroline Quentin.

In 2021, partnered with renowned baker John Whaite in a same-sex duo, Johannes emerged as one of Strictly Come Dancing’s adored professionals. However, despite making it to the final round, they just fell short of winning the Glitterball trophy.

In the year 2022, Johannes teamed up with comedian Ellie Taylor. The following year, he advanced to the semifinals alongside former tennis player Annabel Croft.

In this current season, there’s optimism that they might make it to the finale alongside Montell. Although they ended up in the dance-off the previous week, their Afro-Caribbean-themed Couples Choice performance earlier in the series earned them a near-perfect score of 39 out of 40 points, drawing praise from viewers.

In September, Johannes shared additional insights regarding the movie based on his elevator tale, which is inspired by his memoir titled “JoJo: Finally Home”.

The movie, being developed by Arrested Industries and Helena Spring Films, will incorporate musical sequences that have been personally choreographed by Johannes. However, it should be noted that this film is not strictly a musical production.

According to the latest news, Anthony Kimble’s companies, Arrested Industries, and Oscar-recognized Helena Spring Films, have acquired the production rights. As a result, Johannes will serve as an executive producer for this upcoming project.

Johannes told Deadline: ‘Growing up gay in the townships of South Africa was not an easy ride, but there were so many good things about my life there, and it has made me the person I am today.

It’s amazing to me that my tale is now destined for the silver screen. I am deeply thankful for this fresh chance and excited to collaborate intimately with Helena and Anthony during the upcoming months.

In addition, Anthony Kimble stated, “We aim to create a film adaptation that truly captures the essence of the book and Jojo, offering a vibrant, amusing, and engaging experience for viewers of all ages, resulting in broad grins.
