Joey Lawrence accused of having AFFAIR with actress by her estranged husband – amid shock split from wife

It’s been alleged that actor Joey Lawrence is involved in a romantic relationship with actress Melina Alves, following his unexpected separation from his wife, Samantha Cope.
Lawrence, aged 48, who recently had his marriage of two years terminated by Cope on Wednesday and specified their separation as June 7, 2024 in the divorce papers – has been implicated for infidelity in fresh court documents regarding the divorce case filed by Alves’ separated husband Edward Rider in New Jersey.
According to documents filed with TMZ in late July, the claimant asserts that he learned about Joey and Melina’s alleged affair, which occurred around late March.
Joey and Melina face charges of having an alleged romantic relationship while working together on the California set of their upcoming holiday movie, “Socked In for Christmas,” where Melina is also credited as a scriptwriter.
Rider claims the affair went on ‘at various other times and places.’
Melina previously posed up with Joey on her Instagram page – but the snap has since been deleted.

According to her IMDb profile, Melina is a multi-talented individual hailing from Brazil who resides and works as a producer, actress, and writer based in Los Angeles, California.
She previously worked as a Flight Attendant and speaks fluent Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
After Samantha shared a mysterious statement concerning loss, it occurred only a few days following their low-key breakup.
She posted an emotional quote along with pictures of her 19-month-old daughter Dylan on Instagram on June 11th.

According to TMZ’s report from court documents, Cope requested sole custody of Dylan. She mentioned that if Dylan reaches the age of three in January 2026, she would permit her daughter to spend two nights a week at her father’s house.
According to the report, Cope argued against granting either himself or the actor from Melissa & Joey any alimony.
According to reports, Cope stated to the court that she isn’t comfortable with Lawrence having prolonged visits with the child at this time. She believes that Dylan should be older and able to give consent before such visits occur.
In her request for filing, Cope stipulated that she should have consent for anyone who isn’t a relative that her daughter interacts with when she’s with Lawrence, as reported by the source.
Lawrence was married to Chandie Yawn-Nelson from 2005 to the conclusion of their divorce proceedings in 2021, which followed their filing for divorce in 2020. Prior to that, he was married to Michelle Vella from 2002 until 2005.
Lawrence is also father to daughters Charleston, 18, and Liberty, 14, with Yawn-Nelson.
Lawrence and Cope first met in 2020 working on the Lifetime film My Husband’s Secret Brother.
In August of 2021, Lawrence and Cope announced their engagement to Us Weekly. According to him, it’s an abundance of fantastic things, truly wonderful stuff. He described her as the best person anyone could ever meet.
He mentioned that’s where we crossed paths, and then, unexpectedly, it turned out to be quite a wild ride for everyone due to the coronavirus pandemic. But you never know when fortune favors, and indeed, encountering her turned out to be an absolutely extraordinary experience.
He stated, “Suddenly, without warning, you encounter your ideal match. It’s as if all the unseen factors align perfectly… and that’s when you find ‘the one.'”
Lawrence and Cope got married in May of 2022 at the Temecula Creek Inn, located in Temecula, California. Present at the ceremony were Lawrence’s brothers, Matthew Lawrence (age 44) and Andrew Lawrence (age 36), who are both actors.
Initially, Cope shared with People that her relationship with Lawrence developed quickly: “Right from the start, it felt like a secure environment where I could truly be me… Just two weeks in, I found myself thinking, ‘I will be with you always.'”

Indirectly hinting at possible challenges in their relationship, she shared a post on Instagram on June 11th with the caption, ‘Everything not kept isn’t lost,’ which did not feature any photos of Lawrence.
