Joey Essex Stalker Avoids Trial After 100K Messages Including Death Threats

It is said that Joey Essex feels anxious following the news that his ‘Baby Reindeer’-like stalker, who was determined ‘not fit to face a trial’.

It came to light last year that an overzealous fan sent more than 100,000 messages to the reality television personality, who is now 34 years old. Some of these messages contained what appeared to be threats against his then-girlfriend Jessy Potts, whom he had met during the Love Island series in 2024.

However, as reported by The Sun, the police have decided that criminal proceedings might not be the best course of action in this case. Instead, they plan to safeguard Joey by providing necessary interventions.

According to a source, he’s a bit worried since she won’t be facing trial, yet he has complete faith in the system.

TopMob have contacted Joey’s reps for comment.

Previously known TOWIE celebrity, who parted ways with Jessy in September following a mere seven-week post-ITV villa stint, reached out to Cheshire Police back in August of the previous year, expressing worry over the aggressive tone and suspicious content of certain messages they received.

I have come across some disturbing reports that seem to involve threats against Jessica, such as statements like, “I’ll blow holes in you, Jessy.” Regarding her partner, some individuals have been disrespectful, using terms like “overweight woman” and “a troublesome female.” These expressions are unacceptable and harmful.

A reliable source near Joey stated that the messages he’s been getting from a specific individual have grown more and more alarming.

Law enforcement officials confiscated electronic gadgets, such as a smartphone and a computer, from a lady hailing from Stockport.

From here on out, I’ve been strictly instructed to steer clear of Joey and his kin, and I’m also forbidden from setting foot in London or Essex. This is part of my current lifestyle guidelines.

In August, Joe informed The Sun that he was compelled to file a police report due to increasingly menacing messages he had received from a stalker.

I appreciate my fans greatly, and I would love to interact with them more online. However, there needs to be boundaries set, and unfortunately, that’s where we must draw the line.

According to reports, it’s been noted that the individual under scrutiny made comments beneath his social media posts that were critical and labeled him as ‘insecure’.

According to a reliable insider, Joey is accustomed to receiving online teasing (or trolling) and finds pleasure in interacting with his followers digitally.

In the Love Island villa, they observed an increase in messages from a specific user, and much of it seemed nonsensical to his team.

After meeting Jessy, their behavior has become progressively alarming, involving specific, menacing physical gestures, which is a matter of worry now.

In a parallel to the Netflix series “Baby Reindeer,” Joey’s ordeal with a persistent stalker named Martha, whom he encountered at a bar, echoes the story of a comedian grappling with his struggles.

The show, claimed to be a true account inspired by the life of its creator Richard Gadd, faced legal action from Scottish lawyer Fiona Harvey following her identification as the character Martha in the series, who is alleged to be based on her.

Last year, Joey and Jessy announced that they had separated. They explained that they had attempted to keep their relationship going, but after leaving the Love Island villa, it became clear that it was not destined to succeed.

Joey and Jessy announced that they had parted ways last year. They shared that they had tried hard to make their relationship work, but after exiting the Love Island villa, it became apparent that it wasn’t meant to last.

According to Joey’s statement to The Sun, “Sadly, we chose to part ways, but I hope we can maintain a friendship. I genuinely wish Jessica all the success in her future endeavors.

Jessy mentioned: ‘I valued the time I spent on Love Island with Joey, yet our attempts at making things work didn’t succeed.’

During Love Island’s season 11, these two found themselves falling deeply in love. They even reached the final episode together. However, only a few weeks later, whispers started about them barely communicating due to their hectic daily routines.
