Joel Dommett’s Insane London Marathon Schedule: Juggling Parenthood, Touring, and Running!

On Saturday, Joel Dommett left fans amazed as he disclosed the demanding routine he’s been following before the London Marathon.

The comedian, aged 39, is among thousands participating in the famous 26-mile run encircling the city, and his path towards the end point started yesterday afternoon as he embarked on his journey from his home in South West London.

Subsequently, he made his way to Leeds for a comedy performance, then journeyed for approximately two and a half hours towards Cambridge for the evening.

Joel managed to get only about six and a half hours of sleep, presuming he fell asleep immediately upon reaching Cambridge, before waking up again at half past six on Sunday morning. At exactly 6:45 AM, he departed from his hotel to make his way to the Greenwich roundabout.

His detailed schedule, clearly displayed on a whiteboard and also posted on Instagram, extended beyond that point. Subsequently, he embarked on a 30-minute warm-up jog en route to the starting line, preceding the marathon.

Joel aspires to run the marathon in less than three hours, quite an accomplishment, where he’ll reunite with his wife, Hannah Cooper, and their newborn son, Wilde, at the end point of the race.

He mentioned that it was essential for him to maintain a three-hour interval, so Wilde could catch some shut-eye during their car journey home.

After returning home, everything going as expected, Joel will enjoy an ice bath followed by a pre-arranged meal. At 4:45 pm, he’ll be ready for pickup to proceed with the filming.

Joel captioned the eye-popping post: ‘Swipe for some terrible planning and excellent carb loading.’

The schedule was among various images related to the event, featuring a shot of Joel’s running attire, which hinted at his participation in the marathon for the benefit of Brain Tumor Support.

Fans and celebrity friends were quick to flood the post with supportive comments.

Brain Tumor Support replied: “Wow, that’s quite a busy plan you have, Joel! A big thank you for representing us admirably while tackling your challenge.

‘We are all cheering you on and will be tracking you from afar.’

A person, who underwent significant surgery to remove portions of her brain tumor this year, expresses gratitude and support: “You’re all with me every step of the way, Joel!

In response to Joel’s goal of finishing the marathon in less than three hours, Ben Sheppard exclaimed, “Crush it, Joel! Sub-3 Hour Marathon!

In the meantime, Bryony Gordon, another marathon runner, mentioned that she will take note of Joel’s routine when she starts voicing complaints during her own run.

She joked: ‘Lol i’m saving this for when i start complaining at mile 14.’

As a seasoned marathon participant, I find myself gearing up for my second London Marathon this year. Quite memorably, I tackled this event in an unforgettable piranha costume last time around!

He told TCS London Marathon: ‘It was definitely the hardest marathon I’ve done.

‘Really had to dig deep. Lots of shouting to myself.

‘It probably weighs, I reckon, probably about 8kg, something like that.

‘The hard thing was it [the costume] was just banging against my head the entire time.’

Prior to this year’s competition, Joel shared on Instagram that he’s relieved he won’t have to wear a heavy costume anymore.
