Joel Creasey and Myf Warhurst step down as SBS Eurovision hosts: ‘It’s been a huge honour’
As a dedicated Eurovision follower for over two decades now, I must say that Joel Creasey and Myf Warhurst have been the epitome of excellence as hosts for SBS. Their dynamic duo has brought an unparalleled level of entertainment and camaraderie to our screens that has made watching Eurovision feel like a grand party in my living room.
Joel Creasey and Myf Warhurst are stepping down as the SBS Eurovision hosts.
On Wednesday afternoon, it was subtly revealed by SBS that the duo would no longer be responsible for Australia’s broadcast of the Eurovision Song Contest.
From 2017, the charismatic pair Myf Warhurst and Joel Creasey, both well-known in the media industry for their TV and radio work, and their love for music, have been delighting Australian viewers with Eurovision broadcasts. However, they’ve decided to step away from commentating duties in 2025 and hand over the glittering microphones to new hosts.
The public broadcaster went on to thank the duo for their eight years of service.
SBS wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to Myf and Joel for their exceptional contributions throughout their tenure.
Myf and Joel expressed their profound gratitude, stating that it was a tremendous privilege to have hosted the Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of SBS.

It’s been an absolute joy to witness our Australian artists shine on the global stage, and we feel honored to share this exciting journey with our devoted Australian Eurovision supporters,” they added.
We greatly appreciate SBS and Blink TV, and we both agree that one of the most wonderful outcomes from this experience has been our strong friendship.
Myf and Joel also hinted that they will definitely be collaborating some time in the future.

‘We certainly aim to work together in some capacity again soon.
As a dedicated viewer, I can’t help but express my heartfelt wishes for SBS and their fresh hosts as they embark on their upcoming broadcasts. Next year, you can count on me to rise early, still in my comfy pyjamas, ready to join the rest of Australia from the comfort of my couch, eagerly waiting for another fantastic viewing experience!
In addition to music and wind apparatuses, Eurovision is all about shared happiness, enthusiasm, and friendship, as expressed by Paul Clarke, Australia’s Creative Director for Eurovision following the announcement.
Locating individuals who fit this description isn’t always a breeze, but we hit the jackpot with Myf and Joel eight years back, and we’ve cherished collaborating with them since then. We send our very best wishes to them in their post-Eurovision journey.
Clarke also suggested the public broadcaster had lined up the duo’s replacement.
‘We are excited to introduce you to a dynamic new host team for 2025 – watch this space!’
Since 2017, this pair has been taking over the SBS broadcast, replacing the veteran hosts Julia Zemiro and Sam Pang who had been in the position for quite some time.
