Joe Swash warns David Beckham against messaging his wife Stacey Solomon as he jokes ‘the last thing I need is him as competition!’

Joe Swash playfully told David Beckham to avoid chatting with his wife, Stacey Solomon, saying having the famous footballer around is ‘exactly what I don’t need!’

The 43-year-old actor from EastEnders revealed this after his wife, a 35-year-old TV personality, asked David, 50, for help with beekeeping.

In the newest installment of their reality show, Stacey & Joe, Stacey Solomon shared her idea to keep bees at her home, Pickle Cottage, and start making her own honey.

Her sister, Gemma, encouraged Stacey to contact David, who had recently started beekeeping himself after setting up hives at his country estate in the Cotswolds, worth around £12 million.

Stacey hesitantly sent a voice message to the ex-England player on Instagram, hoping he might invite her to his garden in the Cotswolds.

She let out a nervous giggle and said, “Hi David, I’m so embarrassed to be messaging you, but my sister told me to just ask you about bees!”

I’m planning to get a beehive, and since I know you and Victoria are experienced beekeepers, I was hoping you might share some advice or helpful tips.

She winced and quickly added that she already wished she hadn’t sent the message, figuring he’d likely never see it-and if he did, he’d probably think she was strange.

As soon as Stacey sent the voice note, she instantly regretted it, saying, ‘I hope he doesn’t ever hear that!’

She confronted her sister, explaining she was worried she’d ruined her chances of doing anything fun because she’d sent a really embarrassing message to David Beckham.

‘You don’t even want me to get bee advice, you just want to go to David Beckham’s house!’

Honestly, I wasn’t surprised when the Manchester United player didn’t even respond – and Joe was secretly thrilled! He’d already told David to back off, so it was a bit of a relief that things stayed quiet.

He playfully protested, “Of course he didn’t respond, and he shouldn’t! Stay away, buddy! I don’t need David Beckham competing with me!”

‘It’s the last thing I need. I’ve got dogs, ducks, the last thing I need is David Beckham.’

Stacey rolled her eyes at her husband’s behavior and interrupted him. “He has a family, what are you getting at? I simply asked if he had any beekeeping tips – he seems like someone who knows what he’s doing.”

Joe scoffed, saying, “Oh, that old story.” Stacey went on, “The documentary showed him wearing the suit and everything, so he seemed like an expert.”

Joe chimed in with a playful comment: ‘He did look good in that suit, right?’ This annoyed Stacey, who then asked directly: ‘Are you attracted to David Beckham?’

The actor quickly denied the claim, stating, “I have no interest in David Beckham! I simply don’t want him involved in my life!”

David often posts about his beekeeping hobby on Instagram. He became passionate about bees and has even started a small business selling snacks made with honey.

In addition to his already substantial wealth-estimated at £372 million ($450 million)-he launched BEEUP, a honey-flavored snack designed for kids, which is now sold in Target stores nationwide.

He’s been thinking about this for a while, ever since he started beekeeping and making honey during lockdown – something his wife, Victoria, affectionately calls ‘David’s Sticky Stuff’.

David announced the launch of @beeupsnacks on social media in June, sharing that it was a long-term passion project he’d been developing privately. He expressed his excitement about finally making it available.

I started beekeeping in 2020 and have become fascinated by it, especially learning about the many health benefits of honey.

As a father and someone who used to be an athlete, I wanted to develop a fun and healthy snack option for active kids, which led to the creation of BEEUP – tasty snacks made with honey.

‘Available now in the US at @target I can’t wait for you to try it’.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen it all, but this one is a bit sweet and prickly! David, a local beekeeper who seemed to have it all, ran into trouble with his neighbors in 2024. Apparently, he strategically placed his beehives right along the property line of his estate – a not-so-subtle way of telling curious onlookers to back off! It’s a quirky story, but it really highlights how even success can come with unexpected neighborly disputes.

Residents were upset and worried about being stung by bees after the ex-England captain put up two beehives right next to a walking path.

Neighbours said the positioning of the structures defies public safety advice.

A neighbor, wishing to remain anonymous, commented that it’s amusing how the newcomers seem to believe everyone around here constantly watches their every move.

Honestly, we have no interest. It feels incredibly arrogant. The Beckhams represent a group of people who’ve moved here from London and now seem to dominate the local scene.

The beehives showed up recently, over 330 yards from the house. They’re located very close to a public walking path on the western edge of the property.

Allergy UK notes that while Britain is home to many types of bees, only honeybees typically sting people. And when they do, it’s most often beekeepers, their families, or those living nearby who are affected.
