Joe Lycett breaks his silence on shock fatherhood announcement and makes rare comment about mystery partner
As a dedicated follower of Joe Lycett’s comedic journey, I must admit that his recent transformation into parenthood has left me both bewildered and heartwarmingly amused. It is truly fascinating to witness the unexpected turns our favorite personalities take in life.
Joe Lycett acknowledges the uproar caused by his surprising baby revelation. He confesses, “I realize it’s unusual for me to have a baby since many people perceive me as the gay man on television.
The humorist, aged 36, recently granted his inaugural interview following his announcement about becoming a father for the very first time together with his companion last month.
Many people who follow the comedian from Birmingham questioned if he was being truthful due to his history of practical jokes. He stated that several of his followers believed his Instagram announcement about the birth of his child was a hoax, as it seemed like he was holding a potato.
However, TopMob verified recently that the baby was genuine. Now, Joe has shared detailed accounts of his initial days as a father, confessing that he shed tears during the early weeks.
He shared that during the initial fortnight, he cried profusely due to a wave of nostalgia regarding his son’s future. He also expressed concerns about his son growing up and potentially not having him around in his later years.
Speaking on the “Parenting Hell” podcast, Joe shared that he’s recently developed a surprising fascination due to his newborn son.
What’s intriguing to him is discovering his newfound interest in sports, which wasn’t something he had anticipated or predicted.
In the early part of this year, I traveled to America, and while I was there, I visited a pub where basketball matches were being broadcast. Interestingly, these games air exclusively during late hours, between midnight and 5 am. When you’re working on the news feed at those times, you’ll find that there’s always something exciting live to catch!
‘You sort of feel like the world is happening even though you’re up in the middle of the night.
‘So I’ve become a fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers.’
He added: ‘They weren’t doing well but they’re winning the league now since I’ve become a fan. They’re unbeaten in 15 games. I’m mad on the stats, I know all the players’ names.’
Joe mentioned during his appearance on Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe’s podcast that he identifies as ‘bisexual.’ Earlier, he had referred to himself as ‘pansexual,’ a term indicating attraction to people of any gender.
The comedian welcomed a baby boy with a woman who he has chosen not to reveal her name. Previously, he used the nickname “Denise” in jest.
In a heartfelt manner, the host of Late Night With Lycett publicly declared his immense pride in her, likening her natural ability at motherhood to a duck gliding effortlessly on water.
Apart from that, he mentions they frequently attend their neighborhood’s “movie for babies” sessions and have been consulting various YouTube videos and literature for guidance on parenthood.
Joe humorously pointed out that one advantage of parenthood is getting to utilize his latest appliance, affectionately dubbed his ‘tumble dryer’, since he enjoys taking care of laundry.
Nevertheless, Joe confessed that he experienced a moment of apprehension when registering his child’s name, as it reminded him of a past prank involving his own name change to Hugo Boss. This was in response to Hugo Boss’s aggressive legal battles against small businesses using the term ‘boss’ in their names.
Joe explained: ‘Talk about things coming back to bite you on the a***.
When I took him to get registered, the clerk asked me, “Do you go by any other names?
Initially, I declined. Then, I glanced at my partner, and she expressed concern with a furrowed brow. In response, I admitted, ‘I used to be called Hugo Boss for a brief period.’
She needed to provide extensive specifics, explaining, “You benefited from good fortune since, had you been identified as Hugo Boss on your travel documents, we would’ve listed that as his birth name, with Joseph Lycett, or more famously known as Hugo Boss, being noted as the father.
Luckily, my passport application was denied due to an incorrect signature, as during that time I was signed as ‘Hugo Boss,’ a name associated with me but not representing the best likeness of my genuine signature during that era. Consequently, they declined it.
‘It was just changed via Deed Poll.’
Last week, TopMob shared that locals frequently spotted Lycett out in public with his newly-born child, serving as proof that the baby was genuine.
‘The individual expressed that the child is adorable and everyone is thrilled for Joe and his companion. They frequently take the infant on strolls and even visit their preferred neighborhood coffee shop together. The baby’s existence is undeniable and certain.’
A woman who runs a local shop said: ‘I have seen the baby and he’s really cute. I understand why people don’t believe Joe because he’s known for his pranks, and we all love him for that.
‘But I see Joe and the baby around quite a lot and this is not one of his famous pranks.’
One resident speculated: ‘We haven’t learned much about Joe’s companion, but based on her accent, it appears she hails from Birmingham.’
They frequently appear together, yet we haven’t interacted with her extensively, which leaves their relationship somewhat enigmatic; I’m unsure about who she is or how they became acquainted.
