Joe Jonas’s Cryptic Reply to Taylor Swift’s Revenge Track After 17 Years

Taylor Swift’s former boyfriend Joe Jonas reacted with a mysterious comment on lyrics from her song “Mr. Perfectly Fine,” which many believe refers to their breakup that happened over 16 years back.

35-year-old celebrity from the Jonas Brothers band, who was once in a relationship with the Grammy award recipient, started dating her back in July 2008. However, their romantic journey ended just a few months afterwards.

Earlier this week, Joe shared a TikTok clip where he was seen walking around the streets of London, dressed in a gray suit.

Jonas briefly acknowledged the observation by writing, ‘Thank you for catching that’, leaving some to ponder whether he grasped the implication or not.

For 15 seconds, the ex-Disney channel actor strolled down a busy city street while a snippet of someone talking about their social media influence could be heard in the backdrop.

Shortly following Jonas subtly referencing Taylor’s song lyrics, I noticed quite a few social media enthusiasts rushing to express their curiosity, wondering if he was indeed aware of the hidden meaning behind it.

1st person: I would be mortified if he realized the joke was a reference from Mr. Perfectly Fine.

2nd person: There’s no chance he recognizes that comes from Mr. Perfectly Fine.

Both sentences convey similar meanings, expressing that the second person believes the other person is not aware of the source of the reference being made. The first sentence uses a more dramatic and colloquial tone, while the second sentence is direct and straightforward.

The fan posted a snapshot of the TikTok remark and stated, ‘It’s really hard on me when JOE is responding to a comment about my clever lyrics.’

1. Original: ‘HELP THE WAY HE THINKS IT’S A GOOD THING,’ one penned.
One wrote, ‘He seems to appreciate it, and I think that’s a positive thing.’

2. Original: Do we think he gets the reference? He often forgets his OWN song lyrics LMAOOO.
Are we sure he understands the joke? He tends to mix up the lyrics of his own songs, which is quite amusing.

Your demeanor is refined in your tailored suit,
Everyone’s gaze is drawn to you as you move with calculated grace,
Strutting confidently towards your chosen seat,
Claiming the finest spot, within the most exclusive area.

‘Oh, he’s so smug, Mr. “Always wins”/So far above me in every sense/So far above feeling anything.’

The Camp Rock actor previously dated Swift in 2008 which only lasted for around four months.

A Swift tune, said to be about a short-lived romance, is Forever & Always, from her 2008 album titled Fearless.

In 2009, it was widely thought that the song “Much Better” was inspired by his romantic connection with Taylor.

Not long after their separation, Taylor spoke candidly about it on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, disclosing that Joe ended their relationship through a brief call lasting just 25 seconds.

The singer declared, ‘One day, I will discover an exceptional person, someone truly fitting for me.’

Once I meet the perfect match, they’ll be incredible, and I won’t even recall the guy who ended things so hastily over the phone when I was 18, as I gaze at my new partner.

As reported by People, Joe subsequently responded on his own Myspace account regarding the call Swift had brought up earlier.

For those troubled by the brief 27-second call, let me clarify that it was a heartfelt discussion aimed at addressing mutual emotions. However, it seems my sentiments weren’t appreciated as much as I had hoped. The conversation didn’t necessarily conclude after those 27 seconds.

‘He wrote that someone else was responsible, stating that phone conversations can continue for as long as the person you’re speaking with wants to keep talking.’

Looking back, over the years, it seemed like they were getting along just fine. Then, in 2019, something incredible happened – Taylor publicly apologized to him, acknowledging that she had unfairly criticized him during her appearance on Ellen Degeneres’ show. I couldn’t believe it! As a dedicated fan, this moment was truly heartwarming.

In the year 2023, Joe provided insights about his relationship with Swift during a conversation on the Dax Shepherd Armchair Expert podcast, as reported by Billboard magazine.

He confessed, “I’m quite alright with Taylor.” Translating this into a more casual and friendly tone, we could say, “I get along just fine with Taylor. We’re on good terms.” In regards to her devoted fanbase (Swifties), he expressed, “I’d like to believe they appreciate me…No one wants to mess with the Swifties, you understand?

Following their separation, Swift later kindled a blossoming relationship with the British actress, Sophie Turner, in the year 2016.

Post their split, it was in 2016 when Swift started a growing romance with the British actress, Sophie Turner.

Both sentences convey the same meaning and are easy to read.

In the year 2019, this duo got married and later had two kids: Willa, who is now four years old, and Delphine, who turns two this year. Regrettably, they parted ways in 2023, and their divorce was legally completed in September 2024.

Taylor Swift, the artist behind “Bad Blood,” is presently dating American football player Travis Kelce, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs as a tight end.

Jonas is gearing up to launch his second full-length studio album titled “Music For Those Who Embrace Love.” This album will hit the shelves next month, specifically on May 23rd.

Last year, he released two singles titled Work It Out as well as What This Could Be.

Just a few days ago, Joe played his third song titled “Heart By Heart” from his 13-track album for the first time at New York City’s Bleecker Street Bar, specifically on a Thursday.

The gathering was an exclusive, phone-less concert where the performer mentioned to People that it had been quite some time since they last played without phones, and they can’t specifically recall the occasion.

Friends and confidants alike attended the Off Socials concert, and prior to that, Jonas shot a video for his song titled “Heart By Heart.

Joe openly admitted to the media that he spends an excessive amount of time online, and he acknowledged his habit has turned him into someone who mindlessly scrolls through content without pause, essentially being stuck in this cycle.

Take some time to enjoy being with your loved ones without your phone. Turn it off for a while and savor the moment together.

Initially scheduled for release in October 2024, the album “Music For People Who Believe In Love” has been moved up and will now be released this year instead.

Jonas shared that he felt content with the decision he made, and further expressed, “The song I’ll perform tonight, as well as releasing it tonight, ‘Heart by Heart,’ wouldn’t have been possible if I hadn’t kept the album. Therefore, I’m happy I waited.
