Joe Giudice disclosed the salary amount his former wife, Teresa Giudice, received for featuring as a cast member during the first season of Real Housewives of New Jersey.
On the most recent edition of his daughter Gia Giudice’s podcast titled “Casual Chaos,” the 53-year-old father of four discussed his experiences starring in the Bravo reality television program, sharing personal insights with listeners.
Joe mentioned that when their show debuted in 2009, his wife’s earnings were relatively low at approximately $25,000.
In the initial season, we didn’t receive any payment at all. To be honest, it was more or less like having a salary of around $25,000 – quite an absurd amount, but nevertheless… (shrug)
Former TV star’s statement in a natural and easy to read manner.
The contractor noted that, in reality, the couple ended up spending more money than they earned due to hosting extravagant parties that were captured on screen.
He remembered, “The first year, I hosted a large party in my grand living room. That initial event ran me around $150,000.

In their discussion, Gia emphasized that housewives often don’t earn a substantial amount during the first seasons of the show.
She noted that the salary ‘grows as the seasons go on.’
In a new series based on NYC, which Gia is currently featured, she noted: ‘Organizing events and such for the initial season often requires spending more funds than one ultimately recovers.’
She explained, “So, naturally, one develops and carves a path while establishing a reputation. However, during the initial season, it’s all about finding your footing and this isn’t necessarily unusual.
In my fangirl enthusiasm, let me share a juicy tidbit: This TV star I adore shared that when they were part of the family, the parents simply loved throwing extravagant bashes!
‘I didn’t care,’ Joe agreed. ‘I mean, every weekend, I had people at my house.’
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but revisit an unfortunate incident from my time on television, when I found myself in a regrettable spat with Teresa. It was during this heated exchange that I was caught on camera using unbecoming language, referring to her as unpleasant names such as ‘b*tch’ and ‘ct.’
In my previous conversation, I find myself referring to someone in a less than respectful manner, up where we were engaging. I realize now that it wasn’t appropriate, especially given the context – we had been sharing a bottle of wine and I let things get carried away.
In a straightforward and conversational manner, this sentence could be rephrased as: “The celebrity born in Italy made clear he dislikes using that particular term; he can’t understand why he used it at all.

Exes Joe and Teresa share Gia, 24, Gabriella, 20, Milania, 19, and Audriana, 16 in September.
They former spouses each served time behind bars for financial fraud.
After serving his full prison term in 2019, Joe was sent back to Italy. In the same year, the couple made the announcement that they were parting ways.
And they finalized their divorce in September 2020.
Teresa found love again with Luis ‘Louie’ Ruelas, whom she wed in 2022.
In the Casual Chaos episode with her father, Gia wondered if there might be a possibility for her parents to reconcile should her mother and stepfather ever separate.
He answered: ‘I mean, listen — you can never say “never.”‘
