Joe Freshgoods and New Balance Upcoming Reveal 1890 Collaboration

Summary

  • Joe Freshgoods officially unveils his 12th collaborative project with New Balance centered on the emerging 1890 silhouette
  • The drop features “Finger Waves” and “Naughty Things” colorways inspired by 1990s music videos from artists like Missy Elliott
  • Both sneakers blend retro running elements with a sculpted shape equipped with ABZORB cushioning and glossy overlays

Joe Freshgoods has partnered with New Balance for his twelfth collection, and this time he’s showcasing the new 1890 shoe model. After giving us a sneak peek, the designer from Chicago has now fully revealed the two-shoe set, which is inspired by the colorful style and energy of 1990s rap and R&B music videos.

New Balance is releasing a collaborative 1890 model in two color schemes, “Finger Waves” and “Naughty Things,” inspired by the style of artists like Busta Rhymes, Janet Jackson, and Missy Elliott. The “Finger Waves” version features cool purple tones on a breathable mesh upper, sharply contrasted by shiny black details that wrap around the sole and heel. The “Naughty Things” design takes a warmer approach, blending bright orange, red, and yellow hues with black accents and bold laces.

Okay, so I’ve been checking out these new kicks, and they’re seriously comfy. They’ve got this ABZORB tech in the soles – it feels amazing and keeps that classic running shoe feel of the 1890s alive. But they’ve also updated the shape to look way more modern and sleek. Plus, the packaging is cool and they’ve added some subtle branding to show off the collab. I’m definitely keeping an eye out for when these drop – they look awesome and feel even better!
