The singer went on to say, “I truly enjoy presenting this award, but originally, the producers had someone else in mind – Bob Dylan was their preferred choice.

In a humorous tone, Jagger stated, ‘Bob wasn’t keen on the task at hand, as he felt that this year’s top songs were undeniably featured in the film A Complete Unknown. Bob suggested, “You need to seek someone more youthful.” To which I replied, “Well, I am younger!”‘

He said, “Since I’m the youngest, I’ll handle this task. Here I am! Now, let me announce the nominees for the Best Original Song.” And that’s when the nominees appeared on screen.

Jagger previously opened up about aging during an interview with The Guardian back in 2023. 

He shared with the media outlet that it’s a reality he dislikes admitting: as time passes, many of your close friends eventually pass away. However, he emphasized that this difficult truth does not become any easier to accept over time.

‘You’ll find numerous individuals around your age group, and unfortunately, many of them are passing away regularly. Amongst these acquaintances, I’ve got just one older friend. Besides the band members, all my other friends are relatively younger than me.’

Jagger went on to say, “Awareness of one’s own mortality tends to come at a relatively young age for most people – it’s not typically a realization that happens in someone’s seventies.

Moreover, on a Sunday, Mick was seen at the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscars Party in Beverly Hills, and he attended with his partner, Melanie Hamrick who is 37 years old.

He donned a radiantly dark suit during his presentation of the Best Original Song at the Oscars, a suit that he had previously worn.

Besides singing “Paint It, Black,” he also donned a white collared shirt and a scarf adorned with patterns, which hung loosely around his neck.
