The British thriller starring Jodie Whittaker, titled “One Night”, has finally set a UK release date following its initial removal from a streaming platform.
Initially debuted on Paramount+ in 2023, the suspenseful series set in Australia is making its way to ITVX on August 16th. The premiere episode will be broadcast on ITV1 at 9:30 pm on the same day.
Overnight in 2024, Paramount+ took down the movie “One Night,” along with other English drama content. At that time, their strategic approach leaned towards producing “Hollywood-style content” at a lower cost, as reported by Deadline.

In this rephrased version, Tess, portrayed by Whittaker, discovers that her long-time teenage friend Simone (Nicole da Silva) has penned a book based on her rape experience without seeking her consent. Yael Stone’s character, Hat, rounds out the three central figures in this narrative.
During an interview with Digital Spy, Whittaker expressed what attracted her to the role, referring to it as “a formidable acting challenge.
The Doctor Who star mentioned that what makes Tess captivating for him and the most challenging role to portray is her ability to keep emotions inside, unlike many other characters he has played.
For two decades, the armor has been constructed. It serves as a shield now. There’s also an element of aloofness towards those around her that is noticeable, she added, contrasting herself sharply with Tess, who represents the complete opposite.
In simpler terms, “I discovered a peculiar stillness residing in Tess; it’s not an inner calm, but more like an external shield. It’s intriguing to explore, particularly as the fissures begin to emerge.
One Night starts streaming on ITVX on 16 August. Episode 1 airs on ITV1 at 9.3opm on 16 August.
