Jodie Whittaker’s British Christmas movie is now on Netflix

As a seasoned movie enthusiast with a heart full of holiday cheer and a soft spot for British cinema, I must say that “That Christmas” on Netflix is a delightful addition to my festive viewing list. The nostalgic charm of Richard Curtis’ storytelling, reminiscent of “Love Actually,” combined with the star-studded cast, has me all set for a cozy night in. Jodie Whittaker, Bill Nighy, Fiona Shaw, and the hilarious duo Lolly Adefope and Guz Khan – what more could one ask for? And let’s not forget the legendary Brian Cox voicing Santa Claus!

Over the past month, Netflix has been getting into the holiday spirit by releasing a new Christmas movie each week. And now, we’ve finally reached the grand finale (apologies in advance, Lindsay Lohan).

Once again, Richard Curtis delivers a heartwarming holiday tale titled “That Christmas“. This new production is inspired by his popular trilogy of children’s books and shares some similarities with “Love Actually“, offering a family-friendly take on intertwining stories set in a quaint coastal community.

This remarkable ensemble features actors such as Jodie Whittaker, Bill Nighy, Fiona Shaw, Lolly Adefope, and Guz Khan. To make it even more appealing, Brian Cox lends his voice to the character of Santa Claus.

If you’re interested in watching it, you can stream “That Christmas” immediately as it was recently added to Netflix on December 4.

In the collection titled “That Christmas“, each of the three tales unfolds on Christmas Eve, as different individuals confront challenges in order to celebrate the holiday joyfully.

I, unfortunately, found myself at school instead of playing in the snow on a day when everyone else was given a pass. Meanwhile, five kids were left to fend for themselves at home because their parents were caught in a fierce blizzard. And here I thought my Christmas morning would be tough with an empty stocking, but it looks like Sam and Charlie have that problem too.

This film, titled “Christmas”, made its debut at the BFI London Film Festival in October and has earned a 62% rating on Rotten Tomatoes as of now.

Over the holiday season, I came across a fresh tune by Ed Sheeran titled ‘Under the Tree’. This catchy number even has an official music video featuring none other than Claudia Jessie from Bridgerton, making it a must-watch for fans of the series!

The song is played during a poignant moment in the film, and Sheeran pointed out that it resonates deeply with many individuals at Christmastime. He explained to Tudum that for numerous people, Christmas is celebrated without their loved ones due to various circumstances.

Working together on this project with my elder brother was an extraordinary experience, as it’s not often that I get to collaborate with my sole sibling so closely. It was a joy to produce something that my kids could enjoy, alongside their uncle, in the place where they reside.

That Christmas is available to watch now on Netflix.
