Jodie Turner-Smith declares she is ‘over men’ and insists she’s happily single after splitting from her husband Joshua Jackson

As a dedicated follower of Hollywood news, I must say that Jodie Turner-Smith‘s journey through love and relationships seems to resonate deeply with many of us, as her experiences are not unlike those we might encounter in our own lives. Her recent declaration of being ‘over men’ after her split from Joshua Jackson, a year ago, is a testament to the strength and resilience that women often exhibit when faced with heartbreak.

As a devoted individual, I find myself echoing Jodie Turner-Smith’s sentiments, sharing that I’ve moved beyond the realm of romantic involvement with men, exactly a year since parting ways with my former spouse, Joshua Jackson.

38-year-old actress shared that although her marriage has concluded, she presently isn’t involved in any romantic relationships, and is in no hurry to embark on a new love affair.

In October 2023, the film industry was taken aback as Joshua and Jodie revealed their decision to part ways after three years of marriage.

However, before attending the Women of the Year Awards on Tuesday, she posed for a captivating photoshoot. During this interview with the publication, she revealed that she is currently single and has lost interest in men.

Although Jodie enjoys her singleness, it’s been reported that Joshua, aged 46, is involved romantically with actress Lupita Nyong’o.

However, Jodie Turner-Smith, known for her role in “Queen & Slim,” stated that she doesn’t express an opinion about her ex-husband’s current activities. She only requires that any new partners be kind and good to her and their child.

She said: ‘He can do whatever he wants.

‘Just be good to Juno and be good to Juno’s mum, because I’m going to be Juno’s mum forever.

‘It’s really not for me to have an opinion on his journey.’

About a year following their separation, Jodie shared with the magazine that she and her ex-partner continue to work out the most effective approach for raising their child together.

It takes some time for anyone to get accustomed when parting ways with someone, as you’ve grown so accustomed to spending a lot of time with your child.

‘But nobody hands you a manual. Everyone’s trying to figure it out.’

She added: ‘Every parent leads their own unique life, and when the cause of your separation stems from living separate lives, co-parenting becomes even more complex.’

Currently, the star is shooting a movie titled “The Agency” (an English adaptation of the French spy series “Le Bureau des Légendes”) in London. However, during her 2-day hiatus from filming, she returned to Los Angeles to spend time with her daughter.

Juno stays in the U.S. for education, yet her mother confessed that being apart from her child has proven challenging.

She commented: “This will be what I reflect upon later and think, ‘Amazing, I made it through that.’ This is the toughest challenge I’ve faced yet.

In her divorce papers, the actress who starred in “Queen and Slim” stated ‘insurmountable disagreements’ as the reason for her departure, aiming to free herself from a ‘toxic’ relationship.

After Jodie initiated the divorce proceedings several weeks ago, Joshua, aged 46, was snapped walking hand-in-hand with Lupita Nyong’o, who is also 41, just a few hours following the confirmation of their romantic involvement.

At the Glamour Awards on Tuesday, Naomie Harris, who is a friend and also known for her role as James Bond, presented Jodie with the Trailblazer trophy, recognizing her as the leader of the recipients.

On the stage, Jodie openly shared her battles with imposter syndrome, emphasizing that the accolade she received wasn’t solely her accomplishment, but rather a testament to the acting platform that allowed her to express love and happiness.

Back in February, I shared some insights about the conclusion of my marriage with the renowned actor from Dawson’s Creek, as featured in Sunday Times Style magazine.

She said: ‘Sometimes things we really want to work just don’t end up working. And that’s OK. The most important thing is that you choose what’s healthiest for you and your family and definitely your children. There are so many different moments in our life where we look at ourselves and say, ‘Who am I and am I being true to that?’ 

If the response is negative, it’s crucial that you take action, as I strongly feel that lingering in unhealthy environments can leave lasting emotional wounds, which don’t only impact us, but also those close to us.

I believe we shouldn’t consider this an unfortunate event. Instead, let’s cherish the wonderful memory we shared. It’s now time for us to move forward and create a fresh experience together.
