Jodie Comer’s Touching Everton Tribute Will Make You Emotional!
Actress Jodie Comer paid an emotional homage to Everton supporters, expressing her sentiments as the football club said goodbye to its legendary Goodison Park stadium on Sunday.
133 years on, Everton Football Club is poised to relocate to its freshly constructed stadium at Bramley Moore Dock starting the following season. They capped off their old home with a fitting 2-0 triumph against Southampton on Sunday.
Before the last game, 32-year-old Liverpudlian Jodie took to Instagram and expressed a heartfelt message for Everton fans, simultaneously disclosing an unexpected bond she has with the team.
Sharing a photo of her father James, she mentioned that he had been employed as a physical therapist at the club for an impressive 28 years.
Jodie titled her post: “Reflecting on the heartfelt Thank Yous and Goodbyes being shared for GOODISON PARK today, especially for this remarkable figure.
’28 years at the club and counting. I LOVE YOU DAD! @everton.’
Previously, the actress from Killing Eve openly expressed her affection for Everton FC. In 2024, during an interview with The Guardian, she was queried about a choice between winning an Oscar or having Everton triumph in the Premier League.
She said: ‘Winning the Oscar symbolizes the highest achievement in acting. To win one… However, if I were to choose, I would opt for winning a league title just to witness the sheer joy and excitement on my father’s and my brother’s faces.’
The afternoon match versus the Saints promised to be an extraordinary event, as numerous ex-Everton players were invited and many fans lined the streets to welcome the team bus.
On Sunday, Everton found themselves ranked 13th, whereas their adversaries had already been demoted and were at the bottom of the table.
Everton, having gone 30 years without a stadium equipped with silverware, are optimistic about thriving in their newly constructed home at the Bramley-Moore Dock.
For a specified period of time, the stadium with capacity for 52,888 spectators will officially bear the name “Hill Dickinson Stadium” under a long-term sponsorship agreement, providing the team with a substantial financial boost.
Hill Dickinson is a commercial law firm spanning 11 offices which was founded in 1810.
After David Moyes’ return as manager alleviated any previous worries about relegation, Everton said goodbye to their stadium in style with a strong 2-0 win. They are now preparing for their last match of the season at Newcastle.

Jodie will be back on stage in the UK in 2026, performing her one-woman show, Prima Facie, which has already sold out.
Composition by Suzie Miller, the narrative unfolds around Tessa, who starts doubting the very legal system she had admired all these years.
The synopsis reads: ‘Tessa is a thoroughbred. A young, brilliant barrister who loves to win.Â
She climbed the social ladder, starting from a working-class background, now standing as a prominent figure; she prosecutes cases, cross-examines witnesses, and illuminates the ambiguities that often shroud legal matters.
An unforeseen incident compels her to grapple with the boundaries where the authoritative male influence of the law, the responsibility to prove one’s innocence, and moral principles differ.
In an interview prior to the tour, Jodie expressed her enthusiasm: “I feel incredibly honored to be returning to Prima Facie for a final run, and bringing this powerful play to cities across the UK and Ireland. The impact of Suzie Miller’s writing, evident in both London and New York, surpassed all our expectations.
I’m absolutely delighted to be given the chance to reunite the team and bring our production to stages across the nation, with a special stop in my beloved city of Liverpool.
Miller expressed: ‘I am absolutely ecstatic about the Prima Facie 2026 tour; the play has surpassed our wildest expectations, and with Jodie’s dedication to bringing it to numerous additional venues and communities, more individuals will have the opportunity to engage in the discussion and contribute to its resolution.’
Initially, Prima Facie’s tour begins on January 24th at the Richmond Theatre and concludes in Liverpool on March 21st, where it will play at the Playhouse, which is Jodie’s hometown venue.
Or,
Prima Face’s tour starts at the Richmond Theatre on January 24th and ends at the Playhouse in Liverpool on March 21st, a place significant to Jodie.
In both cases, I have aimed for natural and easy-to-read language that conveys the same information as your original sentence.
