If you fancy watching Jodie Comer’s 2016 drama, Thirteen, again, you can currently stream it on BBC iPlayer.
The five-episode mini-series debuted on BBC Three at the beginning of the year, making it their initial online drama production. It remained available on BBC iPlayer until May 2025, after which it was announced that it would no longer be found on the streaming service.
It hadn’t been away for a considerable period, since we’re delighted to inform you that Thirteen has returned to the BBC, making this the perfect moment to watch it if you haven’t yet.
A British drama series titled “Untitled Marnie Dickens Project” was produced and scripted by Marnie Dickens, who has also worked on Amazon Prime Video’s suspenseful show “Wilderness,” featuring Jenna Coleman.
Ivy Moxam, who had been imprisoned for thirteen years by her abductor, manages to break free. Reuniting with the familiarity of her previous family life proves challenging…

The BBC characterized the drama series as one that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats, as it takes unexpected turns at every turn in the plot.
In a thrilling twist of fate, I found myself at the helm of the captivating series, ‘Thirteen’, playing the intriguing character Ivy Moxam a few years before making waves as Villanelle in ‘Killing Eve’. This stellar production was graced by an equally talented ensemble, including Richard Rankin from ‘Outlander’ and ‘Rebus’, Valene Kane from ‘The Fall’ and ‘Blue Lights’, Natasha Little from ‘The Night Manager’, and Katherine Rose Morley from ‘The Last Tango in Halifax’.
The movie, titled “Thirteen“, was generally appreciated by critics on its release (as per Rotten Tomatoes). Critics particularly admired the acting of Comer. The Australian found her performance “remarkable”, while the Boston Herald termed it “elegant”. Later, they commented that she would keep viewers drawn to an enigma that becomes increasingly intriguing with each new revelation.

The performance of the show was highly appreciated by the audience as well, with it being the most watched on BBC iPlayer during its first month following its premiere, alongside the popular series “The Night Manager” on BBC One.
Upon its debut, Comer expressed her reasons for being drawn to the project. She stated that it was unlike anything she had previously worked on and was distinct from the characters she portrayed in “My Mad Fat Diary” and “Doctor Foster,” as reported by the BBC.
Comer expressed that the project was both challenging and tough, but also exciting. She shared that when she received scripts that she found captivating, she knew it was a worthwhile endeavor. After reading the first script during auditions, she was eager to delve deeper into the scripts. Portraying Ivy required her to envision the impossible, testing her acting abilities to the maximum and presenting a significant challenge.
Thirteen aired on BBC Three and is now on BBC iPlayer.
