Jodhi Meares Sells Sydney Shack for $5.2 Million After Months on Market – You Won’t Believe Why!

After a long time, Jodhi Meares, who was once married to James Packer, has successfully disposed of her stunning waterfront property located in the esteemed eastern suburbs of Sydney, fetching an impressive sale price of $5.2 million.

Since October 2024, the two-story, two-bedroom, two-bathroom house located in fashionable Watson’s Bay has remained unsold despite being priced at $4.8 million on the market.

Former model Jodhi, 53, snapped up the heritage ‘beach shack’ in 2017 for a cool $2.75million.

On February 6, as Domain reported on Friday, the buyer officially agreed to the transaction, resulting in a substantial dividend for Meares and an additional $400,000 over the initial asking price.

As reported, a local resident from the eastern suburbs, seeking a lifestyle shift, purchased the elegantly designed house that previously stood. This individual was originally living in a manor by the beach.

Meares is now based in Byron Bay, where she runs her fashion label The Upside.

The sale occurred recently, following Meares’ efforts last month to sell a house that had remained unoccupied for more than three months previously.

In January, it was reported by the Wentworth Courier that the fashion designer undertook a renovation or refresh of the 1880s-era former fisherman’s cottage.

The property has been repainted and given a new, refreshed landscaping prior to the upcoming auction on next Wednesday, as reported by agents.

Additionally, Meares chose to part ways with her previous real estate agents and instead hired Raine and Horne Double Bay for managing the property sale.

The building situated 11 kilometers away from the city center was relisted recently, including updates about the improvements, and it has been marketed at its initial estimated value.

Meares first listed it in August 2024 but pulled it off the market shortly after.

This beautifully crafted two-story home dates back to the 1880s and boasts a generously sized dining room, two expansive bedrooms on the upper level, and a connected, ample bathroom.

It has been extensively renovated and features stylish contemporary architecture.

Features of note are a cozy wooden exterior, a beautiful terrace made from limestone in the backyard, and an expansive kitchen equipped with a breakfast bar.

There’s also a studio retreat, a wet bar and a large backyard perfect for entertaining.

Additional amenities feature a lavish bathroom complete with a standalone bathtub, a personal dining area, and a distinct sitting room.

Jodhi famously married billionaire James Packer in 1999 before splitting in 2002.

Approximately four years ago, Woman’s Day published an article stating that James kept Jodhi’s number as a favorite speed-dial option and frequently reached out to her whenever he required assistance or emotional support.

From the year 2013 up until 2015, she had a romantic involvement with singer Jon Stevens. In fact, they became engaged during that time as well.

In May 2019, there were brief rumors surrounding Jodhi and property developer Michael Reid, as she posted a picture of them together on a boat, casually referred to as their “debut selfie.

In just two short months, she made her relationship with Dominic Purcell, famously known for his role in Prison Break, public.

The couple dated on-and-off before finally calling it quits in January 2020.

As a seasoned lifestyle aficionado, I’m proud to be the mastermind behind The Upside – a thriving fashion label that sprang from my creative vision in 2014.

In those three years of her marriage to Australian billionaire James Packer, Jodhi Meares garnered significant public attention and notoriety due to her successful modeling career.

Since parting ways with the mogul in 2002, the founder of Tigerlilly Swimwear is well-known for navigating real estate transactions.

In 2004, she purchased an extravagant apartment in the affluent district of Point Piper, Sydney, for approximately 1.23 million dollars. Later, in 2017, she sold it for 2.4 million dollars.

Jodhi sold off a second property in Paddington the same year for $2.5milliion.

A few months after making the purchase, she has now sold the Watson’s Bay property for $2.75 million that she had previously bought.

According to The Daily Telegraph, Jodhi purchased a four-bedroom, three-bathroom house worth approximately 4.1 million dollars, situated in Brooklet, just beyond Byron Bay.

She is the founder of her own successful fashion brand called The Upside, which she began in 2014.
