A key employee at ARN has been let go following the cancellation of the popular Kyle and Jackie O Show on KIIS FM.
Kiana Harvey, a publicist who previously worked with radio personalities Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, has lost her job. She announced the news on Wednesday.
Further cuts associated with the show are expected after ARN ‘stood down’ producers last week.
Harvey, recently returning to ARN in May 2024 for a second time, shared a LinkedIn post thanking her former colleagues.
Harvey described her time at the network as fulfilling and went on to enthusiastically praise Henderson and Sandilands.
The most rewarding part was definitely starting each day with the incredible team at the KJ Show and feeling like I contributed to something special.
It’s the greatest honor of my life to be remembered as part of this show’s legacy, and I’ll always be thankful for that.
Elsewhere in the post, Harvey reached out to the LinkedIn network regarding job opportunities.
I was absolutely floored when I heard the news! Everyone at the Kyle and Jackie O Show was totally shocked – it felt like everything just… stopped. It wasn’t just the show ending, it was like the whole country was being turned off, and honestly, it’s been devastating. I can’t believe they’re cancelling Kyle and Jackie O!
ARN, the company that owns KIIS FM, publicly stated on March 3rd that Jackie O Henderson’s contract, worth $100 million, had been ended. This announcement was made through the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX).
Employees found out about the news through social media, and production has been temporarily paused.
A source told news.com.au that the cast and crew are very close, like a family, and are understandably upset and stressed by recent events.
The team is really upset and disappointed. They’re struggling with the sudden cancellation of their top-rated show.
This follows a new development in the ongoing disagreement between the hosts of The Kyle and Jackie O Show.
People familiar with Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson say it’s still unclear what caused the argument that led to them losing their $100 million deal.
Earlier this month, the owners of KIIS FM, ARN, announced that Henderson, age 51, had informed them she could no longer work with Kyle Sandilands following a disagreement on air on February 20th. This led to ARN ending her employment contract.
Sources now suggest that Sandilands, age 54, wasn’t informed about the discussions between Henderson and ARN before Henderson publicly revealed her statement.
According to a source, Jackie continues to focus on her belief that ARN didn’t handle the situation well, but she hasn’t clarified what she specifically said or didn’t say about it.
Sources say they are still friends, and it hasn’t been confirmed whether Henderson officially told her managers she couldn’t continue working with her colleague.
Kyle Sandilands is gearing up for an $88 million lawsuit against ARN after the radio network ended his contract last week.
The once-dominant figure in television ratings has sued the major media company for a substantial amount of money in federal court.
Sandilands was first suspended earlier this month due to ‘serious misconduct,’ and has now been fired after getting into a public argument with Henderson on the air.
