Joanne Froggatt kept one key part of her Downton Abbey costume after final movie

Joanne Froggatt, known for her role in *Downton Abbey*, has shared that she took one piece of her costume home with her after the show ended.

The popular historical drama concluded last week with the release of *Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale*, bringing the story to a close after six seasons on TV and three films.

After the movie came out in theaters, Jenna Coleman, Laura Carmichael, and Michelle Dockery told Digital Spy they had each secretly kept a few special souvenirs from their time working on the show.

Froggatt, who played Anna Bates throughout the series and films, explained that she asked if she could keep Anna’s shoes. They were custom-made for her during the third season, and she had grown very fond of them.

These shoes are incredibly comfortable. I’ve stood in them for hours and felt instantly better, like I was regaining my strength. That’s why I’ve kept Anna’s shoes all this time.

Carmichael, known for playing Lady Edith Pelham, shared that she kept a small purse as a souvenir from the final day of filming. It was an original bag used during the scenes shot at The Ritz.

We were filming late into the night, and everyone was really tired when I asked about taking my costume home. I think they agreed because they were all exhausted and maybe not thinking clearly – it’s unusual to be allowed to keep a costume, but I really appreciate that they let me.

Michelle Dockery, known for playing Lady Mary Talbot, kept a special memento from the show. She received the small toy dog that Mary gave to Matthew at the train station in season two, describing it as “really cute.” Interestingly, she later got a real dog that looked just like the toy, which she found quite a coincidence.

Early reviews for *The Grand Finale* are very positive, giving it a 91% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 100 reviews. This is better than the scores of the previous two films in the series, which received 84% and 87% respectively.

Our review noted that the show seems to be wrapping up all storylines nicely. If this truly is the end of *Downton Abbey*, it’s at least a satisfying and heartwarming conclusion.

Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale is in cinemas now.
