Joanna Lumley stuns in a navy velvet jacket as she joins Paul McCartney’s daughter Mary at a special screening of The Beatles Anthology at BFI Southbank in London

Joanna Lumley looked glamorous in a navy velvet jacket at a screening of The Beatles Anthology at London’s BFI Southbank on Tuesday night.

The 79-year-old British actress appeared cheerful as she joined other celebrities at the premiere event for the new nine-episode documentary series.

Joanna looked fantastic in a long navy velvet jacket, which she wore over a black top and blue jeans.

She wore stylish brown suede boots and added a pop of color with a bright yellow scarf.

Paul McCartney’s daughter, Mary, publicly showed her support for her father by attending a red carpet event, where she wore a stylish all-black ensemble and appeared delighted.

Richard Curtis, 69, cut a smart figure in a black shirt which he tucked into coordinated trousers.

Sir Tony Robinson, 79, looked cheerful as he arrived on the red carpet wearing a navy suit and sweater.

I absolutely loved Freya Parks’ outfit! She looked incredible in a short black playsuit, and the way she styled it with those knee-high boots and a dramatic caped jacket was just perfect. It was a really striking look!

The Beatles Anthology is a documentary series that tells the story of the legendary band, The Beatles, using interviews and footage featuring the band members themselves.

Fans get a behind-the-scenes look at The Beatles’ eight-year journey, with John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr sharing stories about the band’s greatest moments and toughest challenges.

The series will make its streaming debut exclusively on Disney+ beginning November 26.

Oliver Murray directed episode 9, while Geoff Wonfor, Bob Smeaton, and Mah Longfellow each directed earlier episodes – specifically, episodes 1 through 8. Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Olivia Harrison, Sean Ono Lennon, Jonathan Clyde, and Martin R. Smith served as producers for the entire series.

This follows Joanna’s explanation of why she isn’t planning her own funeral, which she discussed while talking about her upcoming 80th birthday.

The British actress acknowledged she’s aware of the aging process and isn’t afraid to discuss challenging topics, even death.

Joanna has said she doesn’t want a memorial service after she passes away. However, her husband, Stephen Barlow, 71, whom she married in 1986, explained that the decision will be made by him and their son, Jamie, since she won’t be able to express her wishes at that time.

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe what she told Hello! magazine. Apparently, she was talking to her husband about what she wants at her funeral, and he just said the most hilarious thing! He basically told her, ‘Honey, it’s your funeral, you won’t even be there, so you can have whatever you want!’ I’m dying, it’s just… perfect. She’s so quirky and amazing, and her husband gets it! I need to frame this quote, honestly.

‘So I said, “But I don’t want a memorial service”.

He explained that whether or not they continued with something depended on him and Jamie, if they were still available. He added that it wouldn’t make sense to say he didn’t want it, because if he did, the other person would have already moved on.

Joanna and photographer Michael Claydon, who she’s still friends with, have one son together, 57-year-old Jamie Lumley.

She first married Jeremy Lloyd, a scriptwriter, in 1970, but they divorced after just one year together.

The popular actress married Stephen, who is now her husband of many years, in 1986, and they continue to enjoy a happy life together.

Joanna’s son Jamie is living in Scotland with his writer wife and their two daughters.
