Jo Wood, 71, reveals what she eats to maintain her slim figure – including a daily bar of chocolate

Jo Wood shared her diet secrets for staying in shape at 71, discussing how she prioritizes health and wellness.

The TV star shared that she typically spends between £80 and £100 each week on organic food, and always keeps her fridge full of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Jo described her diet as quite strict, saying she typically doesn’t eat anything until noon. She then has a light lunch and a healthy dinner.

Okay, so Sally Wood – she’s amazing, seriously! – everyone thinks she’s all about super healthy food, which she is, mostly. But I found out – and I had to share – that she lets herself have a little chocolate at night! It’s just so relatable, you know? Even someone who’s married to a Rolling Stone needs a sweet treat sometimes! It makes me love her even more, honestly.

Jo told Bella she always begins her day with either a matcha or decaf latte, which she blends with a mix of her favorite supplements: Lion’s Mane, Turkey Tail, Astragalus, He Shou Wu, Maca, and Reishi.

I typically eat lunch around noon. It’s usually something simple but tasty, like mashed banana on whole-wheat bread with a little olive oil and cinnamon. Sometimes I’ll have kefir with honey and banana instead.

I usually snack on seaweed, apples, or pears. For dinner, I like to eat something light and healthy, such as wild-caught cod with a refreshing cucumber salad. I sometimes finish the meal with a small piece of Green & Black’s chocolate.

Jo hosted a dinner party and served a tasty prawn cocktail as an appetizer, followed by a roast chicken and a refreshing fruit salad for dessert.

The model started her own organic cosmetics line in 2005 and now owns an interior design business. For several years, she’s also followed a completely organic diet.

In 2005, she received a diagnosis of Crohn’s Disease. Seeking relief from her symptoms, she consulted a herbalist and then eliminated all processed foods from her diet.

She’s openly criticized weight loss injections, stating she doesn’t think they’re a healthy choice for women in their middle years.

Last month, Jo made a striking appearance on the runway during Vin+Omi’s London Fashion Week show, which was held at the Art’otel in Hoxton.

The model looked remarkably youthful, pairing a black lace bra with a black blazer featuring the word ‘lies’ on the front.

Jo completed the outfit with coordinating suit pants and confidently walked the runway, her blonde hair adorned with wired flowers.

Jo has modeled for Vin+Omi before. She famously wore a see-through pink dress on the runway in 2022, and in 2024, she stunned in a futuristic, spaceship-themed outfit.

I was so thrilled to see Dame Prue Leith on the catwalk! She’s 85 and absolutely radiated energy during the dress rehearsal. Then, for the main event, she completely transformed into a vision in an orange patterned suit paired with this amazing, flowing pink ruffled shirt – it was a stunning look!

Vin+Omi, founded in 2004, are leaders in the field of eco-friendly and sustainable textile development.

The brand’s fashion shows often draw a diverse crowd of well-known faces, such as Prue Leith, Debbie Harry, and sisters Jo and Jane Moore.

Jo first met her future husband, a famous musician, at a party in 1977. They eventually married in 1985 and had three children: Jamie, who is 51, Leah, 47, and Tyrone, 42.

Let me tell you, back in 2008, things got really messy for me when it came out that my then-partner was having an affair. It was with a much younger woman – a 24-year-old waitress named Ekaterina Ivanova, or ‘Katia’ as she was known. It was a complete shock and, needless to say, we didn’t stay together after that.

The musician is happily married to Sally Wood, a 48-year-old theatre producer, and they have eight-year-old twin daughters, Gracie and Alice.

Jo has dated several people since her divorce, but she’s been single since breaking up with her chef boyfriend, Jameson Stocks, in 2023.
