Jo O’Meara showcases her impressive weight loss in a rainbow mini dress after overhauling her lifestyle as she joins S Club on stage at Brighton Pride
As I delve into this heart-wrenching tale of Paul Cattermole, a man whose journey spanned from the vibrant heights of pop stardom to the quieter, introspective world of tarot card reading and spirituality, I find myself deeply moved by his life story. It’s a testament to the human spirit’s resilience and adaptability, a tale that reminds us all that life can take unexpected turns.
On Sunday, Jo O’Meara appeared stunning when she displayed her trim physique during a performance with the S Club band at Brighton Pride, showcasing her weight loss.
Over the last few years, this 44-year-old artist has significantly changed her daily habits. She gave up alcohol and cigarettes, leading to a noticeable improvement in her overall wellbeing and happiness.
In my latest performance during our The Good Times reunion tour, I proudly showcased my remarkable weight loss journey by donning a vibrant, eye-catching mini dress adorned with hues of the rainbow. As we took the stage in early October, I couldn’t help but feel elated and empowered, knowing that every note I sang was a testament to my personal transformation.
I exuded self-assuredness while sporting an eye-catching ensemble, pairing it with fishnet stockings and stylish navy sneakers.
Last November, Jo posted a collection of before-and-after photos showcasing her transformation, attributing her success in reaching her objectives to the positive influences of those around her.
In the course of my life, there are moments when a guiding hand is all one needs. Looking back at these old photographs, I can’t help but feel a pang of sadness. However, if you surround yourself with individuals who genuinely wish for your success, believe me, you can conquer any challenge! I am immensely proud of the woman I have evolved into today – strong in mind, fit and healthy in body.
‘Reaching here has been quite a journey for me, but what truly made the difference was having people who genuinely cared by my side. Don’t allow anyone to dampen your spark; persist and persevere because you are capable! You’ve got this!’
Previously, the performer shared her story about losing approximately 14 kilos (two stone) during the Covid-19 lockdown. She admitted to consuming unhealthy food and drinking excessively as a way to cope with the pandemic’s fear and uncertainty.
In an interview with Closer magazine, Jo shared: “Every morning, particularly when I smoked, I’d often wake up feeling less than enthusiastic, expressing it as ‘uh, not great.'”
Instead, she quickly made a change in her habits, giving up alcohol, smoking, and high-carb foods to embrace a more healthful routine that includes body pump exercise sessions, bouncing on a trampoline, and taking regular strolls with her sixteen-year-old son Lenny.
Following her decision to reduce carbohydrates (like bread and pasta), limit dairy (such as cheese), and moderating alcohol consumption, she expressed: ‘I now have increased self-assurance and comfort in my body, and I possess a significantly brighter perspective. As a result, I find myself feeling incredibly fortunate and joyful.’
Jo seemed to be consistently following her healthier lifestyle, as she looked fantastic while performing along with her bandmates Rachel Stevens (age 46), Tina Barrett (age 47), Jon Lee (age 41), and Bradley McIntosh (age 42) at the vibrant Pride event in Brighton.
The team has been functioning since last year, after Hannah Spearritt, aged 43, decided to leave the group due to the tragic passing of their dear bandmate, Paul Cattermole, who passed away.
The singers looked to be enjoying themselves on stage as they laughed and smiled at each other.
After a ten-year break, I couldn’t contain my excitement seeing them back! The stars were beaming with joy as they grooved in their vibrant, synchronised neon tie-dye ensembles, making me feel like I was part of the show once again.
The rest of the group played their popular songs for the audience, whereas Tina, Rachel, and Jo donned vibrant multi-colored leotards and gowns; in contrast, Jon chose a casual open shirt, displaying his impressive array of tattoos.
The singers deliberately accessorized themselves with eye-catching face adornments, sparkling jewelry, and tall, shimmering thigh-high boots, aiming for a unique stage presence.
S Club 7 was formed in 1998 and the band had a string of huge hits between 1999 and 2003.
They had four number one singles including Don’t Stop Movin’ and Never Had A Dream Come True.
As a devoted fan, I deeply mourn the untimely passing of our esteemed bandmate Paul on April 6, 2023, at the tender age of 46. Heartbreaking is an understatement, for he left us only two months after sharing the exciting news of our imminent reunion tour.
Overwhelmed by sorrow, they chose to honor Paul by dedicating the tour to him and renaming it “The Good Times Tour,” inspired by his song from their third album with the same title.
Rachel has recently shared that touring with the group has provided a healing, emotional release, following Paul’s passing.
Yet, it’s worth noting that Hannah, once a band member, has taken an unexpected turn in her life. Instead of accompanying the band on tour, she opted for a different path and chose to relocate to Costa Rica, where she now lives sustainably by cultivating the land.
In an unexpected turn of events, I found myself grappling with the sudden loss of Paul, who appeared to have succumbed to natural causes. However, subsequent examinations disclosed that he had actually suffered from heart complications. Fortunately, there was no need for an inquest into his passing.
The sad news reached everyone that his lifeless body was found in the first-floor apartment he resided in, located in Wareham, Dorset. This tragic incident left his fellow musicians and fans heartbroken.
In simpler terms, back in 2002 when Paul decided to leave his group and began making a living as a tarot card reader, people noticed that he seemed cheerful. Recently, he was spotted at a park near his residence, and it appears he was in high spirits.
A representative from the Dorset Coroner’s Office stated: ‘We can verify that Mr. Cattermole passed away due to natural reasons, and our inquiries are now complete. Since his death was a result of natural causes, there will be no coroner’s court hearing.’
His former girlfriend and fellow S Club 7 member Hannah was reportedly devastated upon hearing the news.
Following his death, the band rebranded as S Club as Hannah pulled out of the tour a month later.
At the given point, she disclosed that she was experiencing severe panic attacks, which eventually led to her withdrawal from the tour. Furthermore, she discussed her deteriorating health condition during that period.
His family and S Club released a joint statement announcing his sad passing.
With deep regret, we share the heartbreaking news of the sudden demise of our cherished family member, Paul Cattermole, who was not only our son but also our brother.
On a fateful day, the 6th of April, 2023, I received the shattering news that sent an icy chill down my spine – my idol, residing in peaceful Dorset, had been discovered at his abode. As the hours unfolded, the somber confirmation came: he was no more, having left us that very afternoon.
At this time, we don’t know what led to the person’s death, but Dorset Police has stated that it appears to be a non-suspicious incident.
‘Paul’s family, friends and fellow members of S Club request privacy at this time.’
At the time the band paid tribute to Paul on social media.
“Beside a black-and-white photo capturing him at the band’s peak, they expressed: ‘We are heartbroken by Paul’s departure. Words fall short when expressing the profound sorrow and emptiness we feel. It was such a blessing to have him in our lives, and we cherish the extraordinary memories created together.'”
‘He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us.’
Following his departure from S Club 7 in 2002, Paul turned to fortune-telling with tarot cards as a means of earning an income during challenging periods of his life.
He transformed into a ‘mystical, intuitive sleuth’, generating income by billing £39.99 for his spiritual readings on a dedicated online platform.
In the year 2021, Paul initiated a YouTube platform named “Tarot Me This.” On this platform, he invited his supporters to contribute financially to receive tarot readings, as he had transitioned into offering clairvoyant services.
Later on, he admitted that he kept his psychic talents a secret from S Club 7, as he was worried they might think him ‘unusual’ or ‘strange’.
