Jimmy Neutron star Jeff Garcia dead at 48 following multiple hospitalizations

Jeffrey Garcia, the popular voice actor and comedian who famously played Sheen Estevez on Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, has passed away after battling several health issues.

Garcia died early Wednesday morning after his family made the difficult decision to remove life support the night before, at a hospital in Southern California.

Insiders told TMZ that Garcia had faced multiple medical crises over the past several months.

He apparently had a brain aneurysm in the spring, causing him to fall and hit his head. He seemed to recover at first.

He reportedly had a stroke recently, and sources say he canceled several comedy shows due to illness.

Just weeks ago, Garcia was hospitalized around November 20 with pneumonia.

He was discharged after a brief stay, but his health took another turn this week.

The report states he was hospitalized on Monday due to difficulty breathing, and his lung collapsed the following day, Tuesday.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Garcia’s reps for comment.

Garcia, born May 3, 1977, built a long career as a comedian and voice actor.

Oh my gosh, I first discovered him doing stand-up in all those little clubs down in Southern California – he was hilarious even then! But I really fell in love with his voice work as Sheen Estevez on Jimmy Neutron! Seriously, Sheen was the best part of the show, and all the spin-offs too! He just is Sheen, you know? I’ve been a fan ever since.

Besides voicing Jimmy Neutron, he worked on a lot of other popular animated movies and shows like Barnyard, Happy Feet, and Rio. He also appeared in live-action roles and did comedy performances.

Comedian Keith Reza shared a heartfelt message on X following the news, writing, “Please God be with Jeff Garcia. I’ve lost so many people, and his son, JoJo, needs him, as do I. He’s one of my best friends.”

Another concerned fan wrote, ‘Prayers up.’

‘He’s a great stand up comedian as well, get well soon Jeff,’ someone else wrote.

Another wished him a ‘fast recovery.’

Following the success of Jimmy Neutron, a spin-off show called Planet Sheen premiered in 2010, with Rob Paulsen continuing to voice the character in all 26 episodes.

He also competed on the Comedy Central series Reality Bites Back but quit after the first day.

Garcia was also a stand-up comic and performing shows as recently as November.

He began his comedy career in 1991, performing at clubs across Southern California throughout the 1990s.

He then transitioned into acting in 1995.

Garcia is remembered by his wife, Lisa, whom he was married to from 2002 until 2013, and their two children, Savannah and Joseph.
