As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for the lives of influential figures, I must say that Jimmy Nail’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. Born and raised in Longbenton, north Tyneside, this man defied odds and carved out a niche for himself in multiple creative realms.

On Tuesday, Jimmy Nail attended a special event, marking a rare public outing, during the press night performance of Death Of England: The Plays at Soho Place in London.

At the occasion, the 70-year-old actor from Auf Wiedersehen, Pet looked sharp and stylish in a navy blazer and black jeans.

In addition, the actor accessorized his outfit with a pastel pink shirt, brown footwear, and a stylish pair of shades.

Jimmy was born in Longbenton, north Tyneside, in 1954.

In Auf Wiedersehen, Pet, he became well-known for portraying Leonard ‘Oz’ Osbourne, a bricklayer role that he landed unexpectedly, as his initial audition was actually for an extra part.

1985 saw me scoring a massive hit in the UK with my rendition of Rose Royce’s “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore.” Fast-forward seven years, and I was back on top of the charts with “Ain’t No Doubt,” securing me the coveted number 1 spot.

In 1994, he launched the song “Crocodile Shoes” specifically for the TV show with the same name. This tune reached the fourth spot on the music charts.

1996 marked a significant milestone for me as I found myself gracing the screen of “Crocodile Shoes.” That year, I had the privilege of becoming the highest-earning TV actor in the UK, with an impressive salary nearing £1 million.

Even with his financial achievements, Jimmy decided to abandon his acting career a year later, devoting himself fully to music instead.

‘I like singing,’ he previously told PennyBlackMusic. ‘I was an accidental actor.

‘Music was always my first love, my real passion. I just needed to prove myself and acting parts were a step along the way to this.  It was a fluke I hit the jackpot as an actor.’

In 2014, Jimmy was part of Sting’s Last Ship stage musical project.
