
Jimmy Cliff, a reggae icon who brought the genre to a global audience and inspired artists like Bob Marley, has passed away at the age of 81.
Cliff Richard’s wife, Latifa Chambers, shared news of his passing on social media Monday, stating that he died after experiencing a seizure which led to pneumonia. Few details were released at the time.
Jimmy Cliff gained fame starring in the 1972 Jamaican crime film, “The Harder They Come,” and is well-known for both the film’s theme song and hits like “Many Rivers to Cross” and “You Can Get It If You Really Want.”
