Jimmy Carr has confessed to being somewhat hooked on cosmetic procedures, following his earlier disclosure of all the work he’s had done.
The 53-year-old comedian joked about how much his looks have changed, saying he’s had ‘everything done’ and thanking ‘a whole team of surgeons’.
Jimmy mentioned on Radio X that while it’s enjoyable completing those tasks, it can also be a bit habit-forming.
It’s not ideal, but you can always try to make the best of a bad situation – even if it’s just a cosmetic fix. I’m doing what I can with what I have.
Okay, so someone asked Jimmy if he was finally finished with everything, and you will NOT believe his response! He basically said it’s like that bridge in Scotland – you know, the one they’ve been working on forever and will probably never finish? It’s like he’s saying this whole process is endless! I’m obsessed with everything he does, and honestly, even his jokes about it are just… perfect.
Is this ever going to end? It feels endless, like they’re constantly adding to it. I should act surprised by what you just said, but honestly, I don’t have the energy anymore.

He added: ‘I do look well but I can take no credit, there’s a list of surgeons.’
The celebrity has had several cosmetic procedures, including fillers, Botox, and veneers. They also talked about their difficult experience with a hair transplant, explaining exactly what the process entailed.
He said: ‘My hairline, I’ve gone forward quite a bit. So, I got the hair transplant.
People often assume hair transplants require a donor, but that’s not how it works. I definitely wasn’t hoping for someone to have an accident just to get hair for my transplant!
That’s not quite right. The process involves taking hair from the back of the scalp – where there’s usually plenty – and individually transplanting it to areas where it’s needed, like the top of my head.
He exclaimed it was working, but with a funny side effect. He explained that whenever he gets a shiver down his spine, he now resembles the cartoon character Tintin!
As a huge fan, I make sure to never miss The Chris Moyles Show! You can catch it every weekday morning on Radio X from 6:30 to 10am, or if you miss it live, you can always listen on Global Player. It’s the perfect way to start my day!
In a 2021 interview on Gabby Logan’s Midpoint podcast, Jimmy described what undergoing the procedure felt like.

I did a lot of research into hair loss treatments. I eventually found Edward Ball at the Maitland Clinic in Portsmouth, after visiting many specialists on Harley Street.
Walking in, the reception area was spotless, and a really friendly man was handling the sale. He even had great hair!
Often, people end up seeing a general practitioner who isn’t really qualified to perform the procedure, just someone looking to make extra money. But you really need a qualified plastic surgeon, preferably one with an eye for aesthetics. The surgeon I went to was exactly that – a skilled plastic surgeon with a good sense of what looks good.
They administer the treatment at the back of the head. I shaved my head completely, and I actually really liked it – it was something I hadn’t expected to suit me.
He explained that his hairline hasn’t changed since he was 17, when he had a pronounced widow’s peak that made him jokingly compare himself to a vampire’s accountant. He mentioned he had the procedure done shortly after the COVID-19 lockdowns ended.
The television personality also discussed his recent feelings of dissatisfaction with how he looked, referring to it as a ‘midlife crisis’.
He revealed he’d had extensive dental work done, starting with his teeth. It wasn’t just veneers – he had all of his teeth completed in a single appointment.
The first day, I was in the chair for twelve hours, and then another twelve the next day. The whole process took about three days, involving temporary attachments, and it was quite intense.

I believe I was given Rohypnol through an IV, which made me feel completely out of it. Everything happened while I was in a dreamlike state, and I didn’t really register what was going on. It felt like I was in a strange, detached place.
Jimmy is known for being good-natured about his cosmetic procedures and frequently jokes about them himself.
He recently joked on Virgin Radio UK that his face has changed so much over the years, it’s like Trigger’s broom from the sitcom Only Fools and Horses – almost nothing is original anymore.
I’ve had some cosmetic procedures. I’m not like Katherine Ryan, though. I actually knew her way back when she was starting out – it’s amazing how much things have changed for her.
I’ve had a few cosmetic procedures, including some fillers and Botox. I also got a hair transplant, which was an interesting experience.
The TV personality recently shared that his plastic surgeon is now discouraging him from getting certain procedures.
Jimmy has also confessed that he wants to maintain his looks rather than change them too much.
He believes that as people get older, they tend to miss the obvious. He explained that we’re naturally wired to simply recognize patterns – focusing on superficial details like appearance rather than what’s truly present.
The goal of cosmetic procedures isn’t necessarily to improve your looks, but to maintain your current appearance. You can hope to stay looking the same, but it’s difficult to actually look better.
