While it hasn’t been officially announced, it would be a logical move for Sonic the Hedgehog 4 to portray Metal Sonic as he appeared in Sonic Heroes. This would mean revealing him to be Dr. Robotnik in disguise, allowing the doctor to continue his path toward redemption while still playing a significant role in the story – and nodding to the character’s history in the games.
