Jilly Cooper Family SHOCK: Daughter’s Split After 52-Year Marriage Secret!
In her series ‘Rutshire Chronicles’, the character Rupert Campbell-Black, often seen casually unbuttoned and known for his romantic escapades, gained a fresh wave of admirers last year when portrayed by Alex Hassell in Disney+’s adaptation of Rivals, a steamy novel filled with tales of love, tennis (yes, played without clothes), and the thrills of the ‘Mile High’ club.
However, author Jilly Cooper, known for her debut book on marital advice titled “How To Stay Married,” has firsthand knowledge about real-life struggles due to the various highs and lows she encountered throughout her 52-year union with her late husband, Leo Cooper.
Effervescent Jilly, 88, has remained single since Leo succumbed to Parkinson’s disease in 2013.
She and Leo have both forgiven one another for their past infidelities, but a recent event serving as a stark reminder of their marital struggles has left her troubled, with the issues seeming all too familiar and uncomfortably near.

It has been made known that the author’s daughter, Emily, who resides approximately twenty miles from Jilly’s estate in the Cotswolds, is currently living independently, as her spouse, Adam Tarrant, has left the residence.
It appears that Adam is no longer residing at that location, according to what I’ve been informed. There might have been hints of strain back in May of last year, as Adam, a high-ranking executive at a sports marketing agency, was absent from the Windsor Castle investiture where King Charles knighted Jilly as a Dame. This absence could suggest some underlying issues.
Apart from Emily and her brother, Felix, it was also Felix’s spouse, Edwina, who was present. Make-up artist Emily, aged 54, known for working with stars like French and Saunders and Jane Seymour, chooses not to elaborate on the separation matter, instead stating: ‘I believe you can appreciate my position.’
They have three sons together, with the oldest son named Jago being part of the crew while the movie “Rivals” was being filmed.
Adam chooses not to voice his opinion about the family turmoil at home. Similarly, Jilly remains silent but is actively working towards reconciling the couple.
She’s previously asserted that life is ‘much tougher for my children’s generation’.
She expressed: “I can’t stand the thought of anything befalling Emily, Adam, and their sons. I understand it’s beyond my control, but I don’t wish for anything to mar her cheerful disposition.
