Jill Scott’s Shocking Admission
Jill Scott shared that she almost had an accident when she first encountered Prince William, as she was a guest on The Jonathan Ross Show on Thursday.
Previously serving as captain for England’s women’s soccer team at the age of 38, and being the first female captain in Soccer Aid history, she reminisced about a close call during her appearance alongside Will Poulter, Craig David, Jack Dee, and Roisin Conaty on the show.
In my narrative, I’ll share an instance that came close to causing harm to a future monarch, an event that still brings a rosy tinge of embarrassment to my cheeks.
I’d like to recount a nearly disastrous incident involving the future king, an episode that left me blushing even today as I remember it.
The soccer player, who exuded elegance in a sleek black dress, shared with show host Ross that they were launching a school. At the event, all they had on were training shoes and the surface was artificial grass.
In a moment of clumsiness, I accidentally knocked him down. (As I thought to myself, ‘It seems I’ve tackled the future monarch!’) He really is a wonderful person.
During the episode, Jill also opened up on her receiving her MBE in a non conventional way.

Looking back at that time, I shared: “That was during the pandemic. I purchased an outfit, but due to delivery restrictions, it had to be sent directly to my home. Unfortunately, I missed its arrival on a certain day. I’m sure you know that feeling when you receive a notice about a missed package.
The parcel I was expecting didn’t arrive, so I went to retrieve it myself. To my surprise, it was the MBE that had been waiting for me at the post office in Warrington.
‘I received a kind letter from Prince William. Throughout the years, he’s been a great supporter of the women’s team. He’s just such a wonderful person, consistently backing the team’, she remarked.
2023 saw another instance where Jill found herself in hot water due to her playful mischief, as ITV’s Soccer Aid had to apologize to its viewers for Jill’s use of explicit language during a live broadcast.
This year marked the 18th instance of the annual charity event, where famous personalities joined forces to amass millions in aid for UNICEF, assisting those in need globally.
At the event, a grand total of fifteen million, forty-nine thousand five hundred and ninety pounds were collected, while former Chelsea legend Eden Hazard netted a goal for the World XI during his comeback at Stamford Bridge.
After a five-game losing run, England emerged victorious in Soccer Aid, defeating the World XI team featuring stars such as Alessandro Del Piero and Jermain Defoe by a score of 6-3.
At some stage during the initial half, Scott, a previous member of the Lionesses and playing for England, failed to capitalize on a chance that could have given her team the lead. In response, she expressed her disappointment in a manner unsuitable for public viewing.

During the commentary, Sam Matterface mentioned: ‘I’m not sure if you picked up on it, but I didn’t catch it either, but it seems possible that Jill Scott may have used some strong language after missing an opportunity to score. If this occurred, we offer our apologies.’
In the meantime, as co-commentator and Love Island host Iain Stirling humorously stated, “We might offer an apology for Jill Scott, just in case; honestly, I’m starting to feel a bit tired of constantly apologizing on her behalf.
‘She needs to wash her mouth out with soap quite frankly!’
Ultimately, Scott couldn’t hide his joy as England clinched victory at Stamford Bridge (home of Chelsea) and hoisted the trophy.
