Jiggly Caliente of ‘Drag Race’ fame has right leg amputated after a ‘severe’ infection
Performer Jiggly Caliente, known for her vibrant drag shows on “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” has decided to step back from the limelight temporarily to prioritize her health following a recent surgery that resulted in the removal of part of her right leg.
On her Instagram account, it was announced on Thursday that the actor from “Pose” and judge of “Drag Race Philippines,” who is 44 years old, had been hospitalized due to a serious infection. The statement also revealed that she had to undergo an amputation of most of her right leg. Despite her sadness about having to share this health problem, the family did not disclose further details regarding the nature of the infection.
Bianca Castro, also known as Jiggly Caliente, rose to fame during the fourth season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” in 2012. Although she finished in eighth place, she was admired for her humor and lively dance routines. After coming out as transgender in 2016, she made a name for herself. More recently, she displayed her drag talents once again during the sixth season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” in 2021.
Music
It has been disclosed that Carlos Santana’s manager announced the musician had contracted COVID-19, following his admission to a hospital in San Antonio due to dehydration just a day prior.
As a passionate film enthusiast, I’m always excited to delve into the world of Filipino “Drag Race.” One of my favorite stars, Jiggly Caliente, has graced the judge’s panel since the series debuted in 2022. However, for Season 4, she will unfortunately be stepping away from her role due to health reasons, as her family has shared.
As a devoted cinephile, I must share that I’ve been informed she won’t be participating in any upcoming public events for some time, as her family indicated her recovery would be extensive.
Currently, we humbly request that everyone respects Bianca and her family’s privacy while they go through a challenging period in their lives. It would mean a lot to them if her supporters could send messages filled with optimism and affection.
Among the fellow “Drag Race” veterans, I was blessed with heartfelt encouragement from the likes of Bob the Drag Queen, Manila Luzon, Sasha Velour, Jujubee, and Raja. The stars of “Drag Race Philippines,” Marina Summers and Eva Le Queen, also joined in on the cheers for me!

Television
The winner of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race U.K.’, known as The Vivienne, tragically passed away at the age of 32. This sad news has been verified by her publicist. Here is how some other ‘Drag Race’ contestants are honoring the Season 1 champion.
This version maintains the essential information and conveys it in a more conversational and empathetic tone, making it easier for readers to understand and connect with the content.
Bob the Drag Queen expressed his affection, saying ‘You’re incredibly genuine, Jiggly.’ He added, ‘Get well soon, dear diva.’
