Jesy Nelson wears tummy-flashing white top while teasing new release in Milan as she suffers major snub from Little Mix in 13th anniversary post
As a lifestyle expert with years of experience under my belt, I must say that watching Jesy Nelson’s journey from Little Mix to her solo career is nothing short of inspiring. Her resilience and determination are commendable, especially given the challenges she’s faced both within the group and beyond.
On Monday, Jesy Nelson showcased her midriff in a dreamy, white blouse as she confidently strolled through Milan’s famous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, hinting at her newest song release.
33-year-old singer, once known for her time in Little Mix, left spectators awestruck when she performed her upcoming single. This took place mere hours before she was overlooked by her ex-bandmate.
For the clip, she paired her summery top with a pair of light blue baggy jeans and white platform sliders.
Posting her video on Instagram, she ignited excitement among her followers when she disclosed that her rapper partner, Zion Foster, had teamed up with her for the project, also hinting at some of the lyrics.
In a couple of days, she’ll release her second collaboration with Zion, whom she has been intermittently dating since last November, following the recent debut of her single titled “Mind”.
Instead of immediately disclosing the title of her upcoming song, she penned beside the video snippet: “What day should we release it? @zionfoster”.
Jesy’s clip came just hours before she was snubbed by her former bandmate Leigh-Anne Pinnock.
On a recent post to her Instagram Stories, Leigh-Anne, aged 32, extended her congratulations to Little Mix – the band she co-founded with Jesy, Jade Thirlwall (age 31), and Perrie Edwards (also 31) – as they celebrated their 13th anniversary.
In the tale she narrated, Jade and Perrie were captured in a monochrome photograph, leaning on each other. Interestingly, though she was an initial member, Jesy was missing from this particular snapshot.
Over the photo, she penned: ‘Wishing a joyful 13-year anniversary to that fabulous, iconic girl group, @littlemix – here’s to another year of greatness!’
Little Mix was formed in 2011 during X Factor.
As I individually showcased my talent during the auditions, a common thread connected us – our collective strength. It was none other than the astute Simon Cowell who recognized this synergy and brought us together, believing that we could achieve something extraordinary when united.
In the spirit of prioritizing my mental wellbeing, I chose to part ways with the group at the end of 2020 after a fruitful run together. Since then, I’ve taken a step back from interactions with my former bandmates who were once my cherished companions.
In my own words, reflecting on my journey, I must confess that the continual demands of being part of a girl group, alongside the high expectations, proved to be a significant challenge for me. Looking back, I realize I wasn’t fully equipped or prepared for this role, as prior to it, I was simply tending bar.
She informed The Sun that she lacked the opportunity to obtain assistance for her mental health concerns while being part of the band, which ultimately led to her decision to leave.
Jesy admitted: “I hold no regrets, as I felt compelled to make decisions that were best for me personally, and I’ll forever treasure the precious moments I experienced with Little Mix.”
Indeed, we haven’t had a conversation since that time. While I can’t rule out the possibility entirely, I sincerely hope they thrive on their individual paths forward. It’s truly captivating to consider their upcoming adventures.
I’m cheering everyone on, sincerely hoping they all achieve great success, because each one of them is incredibly gifted.
Following Jesy’s exit in 2020, the three remaining Little Mix members carried on together until they each pursued individual paths last year.
In the year 2021, Jesy unveiled her debut solo single titled “Boyz,” signaling that she had cut ties with her fellow band members.
During her appearance on The Graham Norton Show, she expressed that communication has ceased between us. She added that it’s unfortunate, but there’s no ill feeling from her end. In truth, she adores them deeply and sincerely hopes they experience only the best in life.
I had a wonderful time with them, creating unforgettable moments, but sometimes situations like this require patience, so we’ll see what the future holds.
‘To me, they are still the sickest girl band in the world.’
During that period, Jesy found herself right in the midst of a significant controversy, as Leigh-Anne publicly alleged that Jesy had engaged in ‘blackfishing’ – a term used to describe non-Black individuals adopting stereotypical Black appearances for personal gain – in their music video for Boyz. This accusation was made in leaked conversations between Jesy and influencer NoHun.
As one of Jesy’s Boyz collaborators, I found myself tuning in to Nicki Minaj’s Instagram Live, where she referred to some of my past bandmates as “green-eyed jesters,” implying feelings of envy and rivalry.
