Jesy Nelson shares cryptic post about ‘gross’ people after Perrie Edwards speaks out on their shattered friendship
As a seasoned observer of the ever-evolving landscape of pop culture, I find myself deeply moved by the poignant and powerful words shared by Perrie Edwards in her recent podcast interview. Her candid discussions on mental health, the tragic loss of Liam Payne, and the realities of fame paint a vivid picture of a woman who has navigated the highs and lows of stardom with remarkable grace.
Jesy Nelson recently posted a mysterious message for her followers following Perrie Edwards’ contemplation about the conclusion of their friendship within the Little Mix group.
In December 2020, singer Jesy Nelson left Little Mix, expressing that the ongoing demands and stress of being part of a girl group were challenging for her. Since then, she seems to have grown apart from her former bandmates Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Ann Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall.
Following Perrie’s discussion on a podcast about the end of their friendship, Jesy responded by posting a mysterious message on her Instagram Stories.
The Boyz hitmaker shared text reading: ‘The internet is gross and so are humans’ over a black background.
In an interview for Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place podcast, Perrie opened up about how the breakdown of their friendship with Jesy led to the creation of a fresh tune.
She said: ‘I wrote a song about it – a friendship I had that I no longer have. We don’t know how to talk about friendship breakups.
As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but feel the same gut-wrenching pain when, after sharing every up and down together, the connection is abruptly severed.
‘But these things happen. Do we try and rectify things? Or just stay away?’
The artist, starting her solo journey after launching her first solo single “Forget About Us” in April, additionally disclosed that she’s struggled with panic attacks ever since achieving stardom as a member of Little Mix.
She recounted an incident of significance during their time in the U.S., mentioning that her apprehension began when they encountered trouble in Las Vegas a few years back.
For some time now, I’ve been experiencing frequent panic attacks. I felt as though I might be on the verge of death, my chest pained intensely, which led me to seek medical help at a hospital. To my surprise, they inquired about any drugs I had taken, but I hadn’t consumed anything.
I shared with them that “I feel something unusual is happening with my heart, it seems I might not survive, and I was experiencing a severe panic episode.
Ever since my recent journey, the influx of events has been overwhelming. At one point, it became so unbearable that I found myself questioning whether my mom might consider seeking professional help for me, perhaps even hospitalization.
She added: ‘Having therapy has helped me massively. I tried so many therapists and doctors. I catastrophize normal daily life things but when I’m on stage I’m fine.’
In a recent, open interview for her podcast, released on Monday morning, Edwards finally shared her thoughts following the sad demise of Liam Payne.
The Little Mix band member shared her grief over his passing and emphasized that musicians in the music world aren’t given enough care.
Earlier this month, at the age of 31, the singer from One Direction, Liam, tragically passed away after falling approximately 45 feet from the third floor of Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires, an incident that led to a wave of sorrow among his heartbroken fans worldwide.
Both Little Mix and One Direction initially launched their music careers on the television show, The X Factor. Additionally, Perrie was romantically involved with her fellow band member, Zayn Malik, which led to a close connection between these two popular groups.
She expressed: “It seems strange to me. It’s incredibly sad and heart-wrenching, leaving me feeling pain not only for him but also for his family, especially little Cheryl.
It’s heart-wrenching to consider their emotions right now. When I first heard about it, I couldn’t believe it was true; now, the tension is palpable, and it seems like everyone can sense it.
In a text exchange, Leigh-Anne (Pinnock) from Little Mix mentioned that the situation felt remarkably familiar to her. Our professions and our bond shared a strong resemblance with them, and this news has left me deeply saddened. Reading the headline gave me an unusual, unsettling feeling in my body.
In addition, she candidly addressed the cost of celebrity status during the conversation, delving into the issue of cyberbullying and the insufficient care provided to individuals within the music world.
In the digital world, online comments often seem to have no repercussions. It’s clear that in this line of work, individuals aren’t given sufficient care and support. Instead, they find themselves elevated onto a pedestal.
‘Initially, they are idolized like a deity, but soon enough, the crowd hops onto the ‘bring them down’ bandwagon. However, let us remember that they are people. Couldn’t we establish some guidelines for social media use?’
‘I can’t bear it – I try to not look as I can go into a hole of just looking at negative comments. Success is good but fame is different – there is a dark side to it.
‘Things are quite challenging for me. On certain days, the stress gets overwhelming, and I find myself struggling with anxiety attacks. At times like these, I occasionally have my therapist accompany me to work for support.’
