Jesy Nelson Honors Little Mix with Unique Names for Her Twin Daughters

It seems that Jesy Nelson subtly acknowledged one of her ex-bandmates from Little Mix when she revealed the charming names of her newborn twin girls.

33-year-old vocalist has been hospitalized since the end of March following diagnosis with twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS), an uncommon complication that potentially jeopardizes the health of one or both fetuses.

She assured everyone that both girls were healthy and doing fine, as they shared an update on social media with partner Zion Foster on Sunday, following her preterm delivery three days earlier.

Jesy unveiled the charming names of her newborn babies to her 9.7 million followers, along with posting two heartwarming photos of the couple holding their little ones.

It turns out our lovely daughters chose to arrive prematurely at 31 weeks and 5 days. The events unfolded rather swiftly, but we are immensely grateful they are with us now, in good health and exhibiting great strength! We have never felt more deeply in love.

‘Everybody meet Ocean Jade Nelson-Foster and Story Monroe Nelson-Foster.’

The name ‘Ocean’ – originating from the Greek term ‘keanós’ – is frequently linked with connotations of power and enigma. However, it can also represent fresh starts and optimism.

The couple named their daughter Ocean Jade, a choice that might be interpreted as a symbolic gesture towards one of the mother’s old bandmates, possibly a peace offering.

In the year 2020, Jesy parted ways with Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock following her departure from Little Mix, a decision that marked a change in their relationship.

Her decision to name her second child Story suggests a link with the ideas of creativity, imagination, and exploration. The name is rooted in the Old Norse word “storr,” which signifies something large or significant.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but marvel at the captivating history behind my beloved middle name, Monroe. Its roots trace back to Scotland and Ireland, specifically the Gaelic language, where it signifies the ‘mouth of the River Roe,’ a river that flows gracefully through Northern Ireland. Yet, there’s an alluring touch of Hollywood glamour woven into its very essence, as the legendary Marilyn Monroe carries the name with such timeless elegance.

In March, due to some complications, Jesy needed an immediate medical intervention. She was recommended to stay in the hospital until she reached at least the 32nd week of her pregnancy.

During this challenging experience, Zion confessed that he and Jesy, who was carrying a child at seven months along during the procedure, had come to grasp one another more profoundly.

As a devoted adherent, I can attest that during such challenging moments, one truly grasps the depth of love one holds and the significance of one’s bond.

For myself and Jess, it feels like this experience has elevated our relationship to a point where we truly believe we’re perfectly matched.

He said the couple had also tried to make the hospital as much of a home as possible.

We moved a transformable couch-bed next to the hospital bed, effectively creating a spacious double bed for ourselves.

It seems as if we’ve settled right in. The nurses exclaimed, “Oh, my goodness! This place is lovely. It feels so cozy.

The couple revealed Nelson’s TTTS diagnosis in March.

Later on, Nelson wept as she disclosed that her condition required surgery due to the worsening of her symptoms.

She clarified that unfortunately, the situation has worsened, necessitating a procedure. While this isn’t the desired outcome, it’s crucial as it increases the chances of our babies surviving.

‘So we’re just waiting to go in and we’re just hoping and praying for the best really.

‘I feel absolutely gutted because I was really hoping we wouldn’t be in this position.

‘It’s obviously really scary because there’s so many things that can happen. Pray for us, please.’

Prof. Asma Khalil, an expert in Obstetrics and Maternal-Fetal Medicine at St George’s Hospital, University of London, advises families going through something similar to Nelson and his partner to reach out to the charity Twins Trust for helpful resources and assistance.

She stated that TTTS, or Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome, is a severe and potentially fatal condition experienced by 10 to 15 percent of identical twins who share a placenta, also known as monochorionic twins.
