Jesy Nelson Breaks Down Over Emergency Procedure to Save Unborn Twins

In a heartfelt health update posted on Saturday, Jesy Nelson shared that she requires an urgent medical intervention to ensure the well-being of her twin babies.

Earlier this week, one of the members from the popular group Little Mix, aged 34, disclosed her diagnosis of pre-twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome. This condition potentially endangers either of her twins.

Jesy broke down in tears as she and her partner Zion Foster shared the news in an Instagram clip.  

She clarified that, regrettably, the symptoms have worsened, necessitating a procedure. Although this isn’t the desired outcome, it’s essential as it will significantly improve their chances of survival for the babies.

We’re simply biding our time, anxiously anticipating entrance, and sincerely wishing for the most favorable outcome. Frankly, I’m heartbroken as I had been optimistic that we wouldn’t find ourselves in such a predicament.

‘It’s obviously really scary because there’s so many things that can happen. Pray for us, please.’

Previously, I shared that I’ve been experiencing some complexities throughout my twin pregnancy journey.

She shared a video with her partner Zion, letting her audience know that she undergoes bi-weekly scans to keep track of her babies.

The singer said: ‘We wanted to let you in on our journey of what we’ve been going through.

It’s thrilling to know we’re expecting identical twins! However, it’s important to acknowledge the unique challenges that come with this situation.

As a fervent admirer, I can’t help but share this fascinating tidbit: The kind of twins I’m expecting are referred to as either mono- or di-twins. Typically, these twin bundles of joy each have their own unique placenta, providing them with nourishment separately.

However, when you have monoamniotic (mono) or diamniotic (di) twins sharing a single placenta, it can result in numerous complications. One significant issue is that one baby might receive more nutrients than the other, which, albeit unfortunate to discuss, could potentially lead to the demise of both infants.

Afterwards, the performer mentioned, “At the moment, I’m undergoing prenatal TTTS, or twin-to-twin transfusion. I’m receiving regular, close monitoring, and I need to get scanned every week, twice.

In each instance when I’ve visited, things have gradually deteriorated, yet we continue to hold on to hope and send our prayers upward.

Jesy openly expressed her gratitude for being pregnant with twins alongside Zion, but also shared that she was becoming emotional as she held back tears.

With Zion offering comfort, the singer subsequently revealed the impact the recent news had upon her.

‘It’s just really sad that it does come with these complications,’ she added.

It came as a surprise to us that incidents like these occur more frequently with twins. Our aim is to spread knowledge and bring attention to this matter.

Jesy mentioned that she intends to keep her followers informed as she undergoes regular scans every other week from now on. She also expressed that she and Zion can only hope for an improvement in the situation ahead.

TTTS, or Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome, is a serious condition that may develop in twin pregnancies where the babies share a single placenta. This situation can lead to potential fatality if not managed properly.

Inequalities in blood flow can occur between babies due to abnormal blood vessel configurations that develop within the placenta, causing an obstruction.

In my experience, one of us starts to suffer from dehydration, impacting our development. Meanwhile, the other one experiences elevated blood pressure and excretes excessive amounts of urine.

This situation results in a swollen bladder and overabundance of amniotic liquid, potentially placing stress on the twins’ hearts, even causing heart complications that might lead to heart disease. If left untreated, TTTS could prove deadly for both babies.

There’s just a 50/50 chance of both twins surviving.

In most cases, monochorionic twins are enclosed in separate amniotic membranes, yet they share the same placenta. Consequently, delivering them naturally can pose potential risks.

In January 2023, Jesy and Zion made their relationship official following speculations in 2022 about their increasing intimacy.

Back in 2023, I was head over heels for someone who captivated me heart and soul for a good 18 months. We were two different worlds colliding, but I thought our love would bridge any gap. Unfortunately, we parted ways in August of that year. The age difference and contrasting perspectives on life seemed insurmountable, leading us to call it quits. However, the couple reconciled, only to separate again five months later.

Despite the ups and downs, Jesy and Zion reunited with a cosy photo announcing their pregnancy. 

Jesy has also been candid about the challenging symptoms of her pregnancy. 

She disclosed to a follower that she’s had persistent bouts of vomiting because she’s pregnant with twins.

The ex-contestant from X Factor shared: “I’ve been severely ill due to carrying twins, which means non-stop vomiting all day and night. However, beyond that, I feel incredibly grateful.

Overjoyed at the prospect of growing her family with Zion, Jesy was taken aback upon discovering that she was carrying not one but two babies.

During a Q&A on Instagram, one follower asked one follower asked: ‘OMG! How are you? 

‘How did you find out you were having twins? Were you surprised?’

As a devoted follower, I found myself utterly astonished… It hadn’t been anticipated, but the moment I laid eyes on it, I couldn’t help but feel an immediate wave of joy.

The famous singer is transparent about her transition into parenthood, and there’s chatter suggesting she could collaborate with ITV for a reality series, offering fans a peek at her initial experiences as a mother.
