Jessie Ware recently gave fans a peek behind the scenes of her new music video, a playful and suggestive clip featuring actor James Norton.
Okay, so, last week she finally dropped the ‘Ride’ video and… wow. Just wow. It’s seriously amazing – super edgy and, like, totally BDSM-inspired. And James? Oh my gosh, James is in it as her cowboy, and he’s… well, let’s just say he’s very sexy. I’ve already watched it a million times, and I’m obsessed!
Jessie, 41, recently shared more behind-the-scenes footage, revealing how much fun she had working with her friend James, 47.
The video shows Jessie and James laughing a lot while trying to film some suggestive scenes.
In a video, Jessie nearly falls while playfully climbing onto James, jokingly describing it as ‘serious acting’ in the caption.
The 41-year-old singer is preparing to release her sixth studio album, Superbloom, next month. She’s also just released a new single called ‘Ride’.
This song has a disco feel and uses a sample from the famous theme music of the 1966 film, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, written by Ennio Morricone.
Jessie shared how she convinced the actor from House of Guinness to play the part of the handsome cowboy. She explained she’d first suggested the idea to him while they were both attending a show hosted by a friend.
She remembered asking James, a friend she’d seen at their friend Jack Peñate’s show (which she’d encouraged him to attend), if he rode horses and would be willing to play a cowboy in her video.
‘I sent him the song, he loved it, and I’m so grateful that he made this happen,’ she went on.
She explained that she hadn’t expected to participate as much in the music video, but James was such a kind and professional person that he made the whole experience smooth and easy for her.
Jessie jokingly recalled a very cold February day on set, saying, ‘I was literally licking the horse’s ear by 10am!’ She also praised the film’s beautiful look, crediting director Thomas and their equine co-star, Caravan, for the stunning visuals.
James said he was thrilled to be in the video, calling it a really enjoyable experience.
He explained that when Jessie asked him to be in her music video, he didn’t have any objections and happily agreed.
‘Ride’ is a fantastic song, and as someone who’s admired Jessie’s music for years – and now considers her a friend – I was excited to be involved. Jessie, Thomas, and everyone on the team really made the whole experience enjoyable and fun.
The music video allowed James to playfully recreate scenes reminiscent of Fifty Shades, a nod to the fact he hadn’t been cast as Christian Grey in the films, something he’d mentioned before.
Jamie Dornan, an Irish actor, became famous after playing the leading role of the wealthy and dominant character in the popular movie named after him.
