Jessie J to make music comeback next weekend after cancelling tour dates for second breast cancer surgery following mastectomy

The confirmation arrived on Friday that Jessie J will be making a much-awaited return to the stage, following her battle with cancer.

The artist known for “Price Tag,” aged 37, temporarily stepped back from public life to undergo treatment, following a surprising announcement in which she disclosed her battle with breast cancer earlier in the year.

In June, Jessie had a mastectomy as part of her early-detected illness treatment.

Nevertheless, she had to be re-admitted to the hospital earlier this month because of a lung infection and accumulated fluid, given her compromised immune system.

Now, it’s officially confirmed that she will be back on stage, as she has been added to the Saturday schedule for BBC Radio 2’s Park event.

Next weekend, the chart-topper is set to perform alongside Olly Murs, Ella Henderson, Belinda Carlisle, Ronan Keating, Stereophonics, Bryan Adams, Marti Pellow, and Kid Creole & The Coconuts in Chelmsford, Essex.

Tickets for the three-day event have already sold out for the Saturday sets.

Jesse recently played at the Summertime Ball in June, where she informed the audience at Wembley Stadium that she would be taking a break for medical treatment.

The woman, who has one child, earlier detailed her experience of discovering a lump in her breast. Subsequently, she underwent a biopsy, and later received a call from the doctors regarding the test results.

On Thursday, she had to postpone her tour dates due to doctors recommending a second surgery for her.

Jessie made clear to her followers that the operation she’s undergoing isn’t severe, yet there might be a conflict with her scheduled concerts in the UK, Europe, and US this fall.

She shared with her fans, “Eight weeks ago, I underwent breast cancer surgery – that’s the initial update.

The unfortunate news is that I need another operation coming up, not something critical, but it must be performed by year-end. This timing coincides with a tour I had scheduled, which poses a challenge for me as it falls right smack in the middle of my plans.

‘So I am living in the moment, I am embracing in the moment and I am flowing with the vibes.’

In a poignant conversation, Jessie shared with Jamie Laing that cancer had sadly taken away valuable time she could have spent with her family, especially her young son Sky.

On her podcast, Great Company, she openly shared: “Yesterday, I broke down in tears. It feels as though I can’t be the mother my son needs, and I dearly miss him. Cancer seems to have stolen precious moments from my time with my boy.

Between my treatment and caring for a toddler, there’s been a lot I’ve had to miss out on. The pace can be overwhelming at times, making certain days incredibly challenging.

During her speech, the singer shared thoughts about certain challenging periods during her cancer fight, saying something along the lines of: ‘There were instances when I felt that my situation might take a turn for the worse, and I feared that it could lead to my demise.’

She went on to say, “I find myself oddly enjoying when bad things happen to me because it challenges my growth. I think these difficult experiences come my way so that I can help others who may face similar struggles.

Previously, Jessie was compelled to verify that she has not yet overcome cancer, just a day following her post expressing her optimism about being cancer-free.

Last month, the singer clarified that her earlier statement was misunderstood. She shared that she was hopeful, but sadly, the cancer has not yet completely disappeared.
