Jessie J Opens Up About Health Struggles and New Music
Jessie J discusses her journey overcoming various health hurdles during her professional life, sharing insights before the launch of fresh tunes.
37-year-old singer revealed, during her appearance at Advertising Week Europe in London on Wednesday, that she had been diagnosed with a heart condition in the past.
At the tender age of 17, following her initial record deal, she experienced a stroke. Tragically, as she prepared to launch her final album, she lost her hearing. To add to her heartache, she later suffered a miscarriage.
Speaking at at 180 Studios, Jessie shared: ‘My health has always kept me balanced.
At age nine, I secured a part in a West End musical, however, shortly after, I received a diagnosis of heart disease which meant frequent hospital stays during the course of the production.
‘At 17, just after signing my first deal and finishing the BRIT School, I had a stroke.

Later, as I prepared to unveil my final album, I suddenly lost my hearing. Following that, I experienced a miscarriage. These events have given me a sense of reality and kept me grounded.
In the year 2021, Jessie experienced a heart-wrenching miscarriage that left her deeply affected. As a result of this painful ordeal, she penned an emotionally charged song on the topic of infant mortality.
In 2021, Jessie began dating basketball player Chanan Colman, and they welcomed their son, Sky, in May of 2023.
The artist behind the hit song “Price Tag” (who will soon be releasing new music after an 8-year gap) shared that she frequently worries about her child getting injured, as she opened up about her experiences with motherhood.
In my own words, I’d say: “I constantly worry that my child might get hurt, but worrying won’t prevent it from happening. If something unfortunate is going to occur, it will happen regardless.
It seems wiser for me to enjoy each moment since he’s not causing harm to himself, rather than worrying constantly about his safety.
Jesse is at the moment gearing up for the launch of her long-awaited return to music, an eagerly anticipated studio album, following an eight-year hiatus.
Surprisingly, the artist known for her Domino hits expressed her intention to shift gears significantly, aiming to venture into comedy – leaving her fans somewhat stunned by this unexpected career transformation.

During her latest panel discussion titled “The Woman I Am,” the British vocalist left her audience in fits of laughter with her witty humor.
The event, organised by Apple Music, was held in London to celebrate International Women’s Month.
‘I actually genuinely want to do stand-up,’ the mum-of-one said bluntly.
I really enjoy bringing laughter and tears to people – it touches my heart. That’s why I’m drawn to comedy.
As a die-hard fan, I can hardly contain my excitement! It seems that for her highly anticipated return to the music scene, none other than Jessie has joined creative forces with Ryan Tedder, the go-to guy for Adele’s chart-topping hits. This collaboration is like a dream come true, and I can’t wait to hear the magic they’ll create together!
It’s being said that Jessie has a collection of fresh tunes and her upcoming fifth album, as she collaborates with the lead vocalist of OneRepublic.
Over the last few years, she has experienced significant transformations in her life, with becoming a mother standing out as one of the most impactful. This event has sparked her desire to return to work in the studio, according to a source who spoke to The Sun.

Jessie teamed up with Ryan, the man behind her song “I Want Love,” and together they’ve created some fantastic new melodies after collaborating on various compositions.
In my perspective as a lifestyle guide, I prefer not just to consistently produce one output after another. Instead, I aim for an authentic and genuine touch, ensuring each creation resonates with the essence of reality.
The source shared that Jessie is eager to reveal what she has been developing, and she aims to unveil her first song this coming spring.
