Jessie J breaks her silence on bitter feud with Spice Girls star Mel B after she was branded ‘a d***head’

Jessie J has finally spoken up about her contentious disagreement with Mel B, following the Spice Girls member’s derogatory remark towards her, calling her disrespectful.

In response to a comment made in 2022, the songwriter, who was 37 years old at the time, chose not to speak up. However, during her interview with KISS FM last Friday, she broke her silence and shared insights on the matter.

Jessie opened up to Harriet Rose about a topic she had never discussed before.

Even though I haven’t collaborated with this individual before, I feel compelled to express that I feel secure in their presence, despite my reservations. Let me share this sentiment now.

She continued: ‘So on TV, she said I was a d***head, out of nowhere.’

The censored part of the recording revealed that Jessie had said something surprising, prompting Harriet to exclaim, “She didn’t do that?” or simply, “Really? She didn’t?

Harriet commented: “I came across a video, and while I hesitate to mention it due to its inaccuracy, she asserted that you are excessively praised.

‘Not in that instance, but during another interview, someone asked who were three difficult individuals, and she mentioned me, Geri Halliwell, and James Corden.’

‘And I was like, I’ve literally met her once.’

Daily Mail has contacted Jessie’s representative for comment.

The comment was made by Mel while appearing on Channel 4’s The Big Narstie Show.

When asked by Mo Gilligan about the most annoying celebrity, Mel responded with a chuckle, “Well, there are quite a few I could mention. James Corden, Geri Halliwell, Jessie J, and myself are among them.

Her statement follows shortly, where she admitted feeling caught amidst turbulent weather, armed only with an umbrella, in anticipation of her second breast cancer surgery.

In June, the performer of “Price Tag” opted for a mastectomy as part of her early-detected cancer treatment.

To be completely honest, I’ve been absolutely devastated lately because last month, she was suddenly readmitted to the hospital due to a terrible infection and excess fluid in her lungs. You see, given her compromised immune system, she’s particularly vulnerable to such complications. It’s just heartbreaking to watch someone so extraordinary battle through these challenging times.

After receiving advice from the medical professionals, she had to postpone her scheduled performances due to the need for another surgery.

On Sundays, you could find Jessie discussing her health update with her friend Manny Norte on Capital XTRA radio station.

When inquired about her feelings, she replied: “I’m doing well! It seems as if I’m undeniably smack dab in the midst of a tempest, yet I’m merely ensuring that my protective umbrella remains unfurled.

Regarding her mastectomy and implant, Jessie mentioned: “It feels quite strange. Really strange. I can hardly feel anything there.

‘It’s so strange, and I’m straight to it. Zero boundaries with me, nothing’s changed since 2010!’

She explained that since everyone is unique, they heal differently. Essentially, your skin acts as a cover for an implant, serving more of a decorative purpose.

Actually, I’m fine. I have another operation scheduled in a fortnight, but don’t worry, I’m doing well. A positive outlook really helps, you know.

Or:

I’m okay, thank you. I’ve got another surgery coming up soon, but rest assured, I’m hanging in there. Keeping things in perspective is crucial, buddy.

On the weekend, Jessie made her comeback to the stage, as it was her first live act since she had a mastectomy, which followed her struggle with breast cancer.

She opened her set at BBC Radio 2 In The Park in Chelmsford, Essex to a loud applause from fans.

Showing signs of emotion before a full audience, she shared, “Perhaps some of you are aware, others might not be, but exactly eleven weeks ago, I underwent breast cancer surgery.

In my latest performance, I was clueless about the outcome, and I’m still in the midst of healing, but let me assure you, I’m far from prepared for any engagements with ‘Babins’.

I do understand what I’m saying, but my doctors keep telling me to calm down. It feels like no matter where I go, I still can’t escape Essex!

I can’t express just how thankful I am to be here today, surrounded by so many of you who have been with me throughout the years. Your enthusiasm fills me with a sense of joy that takes me back to my childhood days when I first discovered my passion for music.

She mentioned, “Another significant event taking place today is that my son gets to witness me performing live on stage for the very first time.

In the backstage area, a two-year-old named Sky was spotted donning earmuffs while waving cheerfully at his mother, who was performing on stage.

Next, Jessie switched to her second number, the fresh composition titled “Living My Best Life,” a piece that she shared carries a personal significance for her.

She shared that the meaning behind the song might not be familiar to everyone, but she was diagnosed only two weeks before its release. Despite some suggesting they should pause or delay everything, she strongly believed that wasn’t the essence of life.

The mother of one went on to say, “Life is about braving the storm while keeping your umbrella up, and continuing to move forward.

As for myself, I find solace in music, and I believe it serves as a healing force. It’s the element that encourages me to rise each day with enthusiasm and instills a sense of vitality within me.

As a music enthusiast who’s deeply passionate about my craft, I can’t help but feel gratitude for the ability to create melodies that may provide solace or uplift others, whether they’re having a challenging day or simply enjoying a moment of joy.

‘So this song is called Living My Best Life, and that is what I’m doing every single damn day.

‘Cause we never know when our last day will be, so soak this up, hug the people you love hard.’
